Soooo many places I want to travel to. Don’t know how I’m going to do it all in 2021. Maybe work remote elsewhere for a while assuming countries start opening up.

Barcelona Spain 🇪🇸
We drove all over Madrid (capital) Valencia (mid city) but Barcelona took our breath away. Eye candy all over, from beautiful architecture to hazel eyed bronze blondes waking around Start the day at Las Ramblas. Explore the Gothic Quarter. Must-Do: Basilica Sagrada Familia. Relax on Barceloneta Beach, sitches too 30 min away. 34k British airways avios off peak in business class makes this a cheap random weekend trip Notes: my 11 year old son especially liked sitches beach for obvious reasons (topless section) me: where are you going josh? Stay in the family beach section, him: I'm going to explore a bit, maybe get a choro and chocolate?!? An hour later he returned can't stop smiling Paris, Rome, Athens, Munich, London felt meh to me, full of Sephora and Starbucks, local shops and restaurants with unusual city sites get my attention, planning Tokyo and almalfi coast for 2021 |

My dream vacation takes place in June and early July over the pond. It would include Lemans, French Open tennis, Tour De France and Wimbedon. As you can see I have a wide variety of interests.

easy, Maldives for me. I almost went this year, literally was dialed in about to book my trip then pandemic stuff started hitting and I got a little nervous then boom everything shut down.
maybe next year we will see how things shake out

Easy... Maldives. So fortunate I was able to go there with my wife for honeymoon. I would love to go back there. By far the best snorkeling and scuba diving I've ever done, hands down 100x better than haiwaii.
My advice, plan for an extra few days so you can stop by another country along the way. There isn't a direct flight to Maldive where I am. So had to stop by somewhere in Asia or Europe. We only had 1.5 days layover in Japan and it wasn't enough. Next time will definitely plan for a longer layover, easier in the jet lag as well. And yes... it looks exactly like the photos you see. View of the island we stayed at from the float plane on arrival. |

European delivery in Munich Germany (BMW Welt) is first on my bucket list. Hoping BMW brings back the European Delivery program by the time I graduate college (2021.5-2022)

Without Covid I spend about 35% of my time in Thailand for work and the next vacation for my wife and I is probably Vietnam. As long as I have this job our vacations will be in this part of the world as my flight to Thailand and the time difference hassle is taken care of by already being there, going at the end of a work trip. I also have enough airline/hotel/travel points for all flights and hotels to be taken care of.

Have you been to Vietnam before? I went last year (i was there at this exact time actually, and i'm feeling a wave of depression as i type this) We went to Nha trang, and Ho Chi Minh. Very cool places. Nha trang food was awesome as were the views. My fathers good friend moved to thaiand, and he asked if hes coming back to the states. He said "never" Where do you spend your time over there? Phucket was awesome for me. |

in the last 3 years have been to Cambodia, Singapore, Myanmar, Japan, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea (craziest place I have been), Fiji, India, New Zealand and Australia in this region, some multiple times (other places in the Middle East), all for work but I try to see things when possible. I took this job partly for the travel but trying to hit some other areas soon as I am not sure how long until I start looking for another job. When traveling all the time it can be too much, now I am ready to go. For Thailand, mostly around Bangkok but our plant is in Ayutthaya (about an hour north), then to Phucket, Chang Rai/Chang Mai in the north of Thailand, Kho Samui on the Gulf (resort), Rayong and Pattaya, then a lot of other areas for short trips. I now drive myself which is difficult to figure out and takes a lot of concentration but no accidents yet. Still not sure what happens in the case I get in an accident but it is a company SUV and there is a phone number on the windshield for our insurance company. I was told I should get an international drivers license but haven't, main benefit seems to be they can confiscate it and I won't care. I like visiting and you can live well on far less money but I have no interest in living there permanently. It's very hot all year round.

For overall, people are nice, never felt in danger, but it is very poor. When you say "disaster", what do you mean? If just overall conditions of the area I am past that bothering me much. Went to a Japanese restaurant in Phnon Penh and a large cock roach walked across the floor. I asked my coworker to step on him and he wouldn't because he didn't want the remains on the bottom of his shoe. Really irritated me but went back to eating lunch.

There are still so many, but one is somewhere south of the equator. The closest I've been is Singapore.
Another one that I just need to get around to doing is to take the California Zephyr from Denver to California.
