A 7 year/100K mile AAA Autoguard Diamond warranty will run about $3K on a 335. It covers pretty much everything that the BMW factory warranty covers. Warranty starts on the date of purchase and is prorated for mileage or time if you cancel. If you wait until the first of the year after delivery, you can only buy it for 6 years. This is what AAA told me. I am thinking about pulling the trigger in late December on my 09 335i.

The only thing I fear about this warranty-thing is that they fix it minimally and when the warranty is over they try to fix anything that they can charge you with.
