Am I the only one that finds this new qualifying format corny and unnecessary? The current three round knockout formula is highly entertaining and works very, very well.

Let's keep in mind , they are having "only 60 min." to test their upgrades "during the practice on track" .
Currently no one knows how the tyres will respond , regarding several upgrades .

I'm pretty sure , It's like a shot in the dark...

F1 is getting more and more complicated, and more and more confusing. It was a great sport pre 2005. Why make a simple thing so complicated. Best thing about the sport now is Netflix.

Agreed. I guess I'll reserve full judgment until we see it in action but on the surface it seems overly complicated and is attempting to fix something that isn't broken.

All eyes will be on that f/wing in FP1 on the 12 if it 'grows' and how it behaves in Maggots/Beckets and Chapel.

seems like trying to break a dominance this year.. FIA created another dominant car.. i cant see how Merc' will be faster than Red Bull this year.. i d so surprised if Red Bull wont be champions this year..

for the new format trial..

this will push teams so much for simulation runs significantly.. and since its so tight any damage on Friday will ruin that driver's weekend.. i d like to see drivers push more and do spins etc. instead.. this format looks like is for mixing the grid thats all.. will that mean more fun races.. we ll see.. after first practice parc ferme conditions will mean you need some luck to get the setup right in 1 hour only as well.. there are some things look like its against F1 nature but i ll wait and see for the full weekend first..

i believe this weekend will be between Max and Norris.. Norris can make a surprise and Mercs need a miracle like thing..

Mate . As you guys always said : It's the 'driver and 'NOT the car ...
Don't you think It's about time that the '7 time World Champ shows his driver skills ?

wow that was some intense quailfying till the last moment.
When HAM almost lost it to understeer in his last lap I thought VER would get the sprint pole, but he came 75/1000s short. That is some close qualifying!
You can't even blink that fast.

I hope this close racing continues through the complete weekend. (and I hope there aren't any crashes during the sprint race....)

VER wants more oversteer , HAM apparently maybe has too much

Well Max has a job to do for being on pole on Sunday and to beat hammy from the off for the 'shortie' tomorrow, they can choose their own tyres.

from miserable practice session to very joyful one.. this session boosted my life energy.. it was awesome!!!
i hope Merc' will take more risks in for the tittle fight otherwise it wont happen anyway..

weird feeling to watch quali on Friday.. lets see how it ll unfold..
