Me too, though I might regret that when I replace my rims with 162's. The contract says that the warranty might be extended to cover user-replaced rims at the discretion of someone at the insurance company. I hope it can. I really really want 162's

really?

Do we have the same plan?

Mine covers all pothole/flats/wheel scratches or bent.. (yes, scratches and bend caused by OWNER's hitting the curb or whatever).

I asked these specific questions and confirmed before I bought this protection. Last year with my lexus, I replaced my tires 3 times alone by hitting potholes in the winter and 2 nails.

Oops, different plan. I have this tire protection warranty which pretty much turned out to be useless because my tread was about 2/32 below what was eligible for free replacements (nails in three tires). Nevermind.

The BMW dealers won't repair, but tire shops will.

Where are you getting RFTs for $300? I would love to know. My replacements are $400+

My plan has been more than worth it. 4 tires replaced at $420+ each, and the plan was $500.

You do the math.

i say plug the tire... considering that you have so many miles on the tires already, just plug it and change tires in the next few thousand miles... you can plug it as long as it isnt a giant hole.

Let me clarify. The three dealerships I've been to will not.

OP, if it isn't near the side wall (and you did not run the tire without air) and this is just a commuter car, plug it and replace all four tires at the same time

patching tires

do not just plug a tire. Plugs have a nasty habit of coming out. You need to do the patch and plug. The plug keeps water etc from getting into the cords. As they are metal they are prone to rust. That is not good. Plugs as they are in the cords where there is a lot of flex they also are more likely to leak.
If you believe in repairing runflat tires as soon as the low pressure warning comes on do not keep driving the car. Check the air pressure and carry a small pump and put air back in the tire. Do NOT remove the foreign material in the tire until you get to where you can repair the tire. If you remove it it may not hold air and you are stuck where you are if you want it repairable. Those that have actual pressure sensors can not put the liquids that stop leaks in the tires. They wreck the pressure sensors.

Uh. thats what tire insurance is for. I would never plug a RFT. Just my 2 cents. And I'm one lucky SOB, at 19k I took my car in for maint. and I bitched about road noise w/ my tires. they said there was a service bulletin on them and they would replace them if i paid 25% of the cost. So, 250 later I had a new set of tires. can't beat that!
