I used ONR rinseless wash with 2 buckets to wash. I found it works ok for mildly dirty cars. But cars covered in dirt and road grime required more scrubbing and can mar the paint.

I ended up buying a portable water sprayer. I had the Worx Hydroshot. It is battery powered, you stick the hose into a 5 gallon bucket of water and you have a portable wash station anywhere you want. I did normal car washes out of buckets in my parking space at my condo. Definitely the best solution I found for my situation.

Then I moved into a house with a garage and now the hydroshot is collecting dust.

BMW- Start at $80k?
People who buy $80k and higher cars don't live in apartments?

Didn't know....

He is wrong. I suggest you take your own advice. Actually it is worse when you cannot even fathom that there are behaviors and things outside of your own experience.

This thread was started in the G8X forums, before the detailing threads all got consolidated into the general BMW section.

Yeah, he's hilariously, laughably wrong.

I lived in a condo for 10 years through 2021 and the ramp was full of lambos, McLarens, etc (incl a few ballers) and we'd all be "rinseless" detailing on the weekends.

Here was my neighbor's spot, he's a big fan of Miami Blue:

Sure, the building HOA had mobile detailers they'd bring in but .. what kind of man would use THAT service?? I mean I don't hire other men to bang my wife either, sooo...

Exactly. My two bedroom apartment in Miami, I was slumming it in the M4 compared to a lot of cars in the parking lot. I was door to door with a 720s quite often.

Location, location, location.

As for the cleaning itself while living in an apartment, super duper easy. I had plenty of touchless car washes within a couple miles, used those along with a nice plush detailer towel to dry off the excess water as soon as I left the wash. I'd spray the wheels with dust remover/detail prior to driving in, and the wheels always came out great. I'd then drive the couple miles back to the apartment, and immediately stamp out whatever water came through the cracks with the same plush towel. If the wheels needed a bit of further cleanup, I'd just hit them with a one time use damp microfiber towel (buy them in huge packs). Finish off the interior carpets with a handheld, battery powered vacuum. As many others have mentioned here, it's quicker than doing it in the driveway of my home here in STL!

With that being said, my apartment in Miami did have an enclosed garage so cleaning maintenance would be far worse on an uncovered car. Personally I don't think I'd ever park a nice car outside 100% of the time, especially in Miami with all the rain.
