Macmulkin in MA.

I got on in fall 2019. They guarantee MSRP. In writing (well i have the email lol).

Although good luck now because on the corvette forum i heard they're currently already in the 1,1xx.

And because of the reveal, no one is getting off the list. So that's like a 4th MY z06. You have a better chance of getting one used after people have fun with it for the first year.

Omg 😱 2019?? I'm so behind the 8 ball on this. Congrats on getting it for msrp!

I've been a corvette owner for like 2 decades lol.

Once i saw the stingray debut in july 2019, i knew the z06 would be a fucking grand slam. And i was right.

So glad i put that deposit down 2 years ago.

It's not too late. Find a smaller local dealer that usually get few allocations for z06's (not stingrays), hopefully there are some hidden ones that people don't know about that might have a list going and you can sneak in there to get a 1st but i doubt it, or at least a 2nd MY z06.

Or just wait for used ones to pop up.

Grand slam would've been a manual. This is an inside the park home run.

Maybe if the car weighed 3100-3200lbs with the same exact powertrain i think so.

I do believe it'll break 7 minute though. I'm guessing 6:57-6:58 which is insanely fast given the C7 ZR1 and it's monster powerplant doing 7:04?

The car will run 10.3-10.5 @ 133 stock though.
I'm willing to bet it won't trap lower than a 10.7. Comparing the NA Z06 to the SC Zr1 isn't even in the same league.

This new motor platform is all hype.

Just like most NA exotics, all noise and no go.

Why. It's the non-BMW section. Are we not allowed to have a separate space on the forum to appreciate other types of cars?

Of course you are, it's just an unlikely subject. Knock-off, cheaply-built, ill-fitting bang-for-the-buck Chevy on a German precision forum. Weird is all.

Those in glass houses...every BMW I've owned has turned out to be a POS. I think it's weird that people would prefer a slightly faster (is it even faster?) SC car over the glory of a 670HP FPC NA V8. To each their own, I guess.

I am interested to see how it does on the track, I have a feeling it is still slower than a less powered Porsche...it's still GM.... regardless of performance it will be a classic and a good long term investment if one can keep it pristine.
That's a ridiculous premise. Getting THAT much power out on the street, you'd be wrapped around a pole within minutes. Anything that makes more than 350 ft*lbs under 2,500 RPM and weigh south of 4,000 lbs will already be way too much to handle "on the street."

And unless you "live your life quarter mile at a time," there's nothing south of 7 figures that will beat a 3 motored electric, so what is the point?

Yeah. One will need to rev it out past 6,000 RPM to get the majority of the power. But that IS the point. This motor is going to be very well suited for track use, even in its NA form, and it's got more than enough grunt based on the size of the engine and the weight of the car that it's not going to struggle getting from corner to corner on a canyon road nor is it going to get "blown away" by your average Civic with a turbo, IF you even have a remote inkling on how to actually drive a car.

Plus it comes with an automatic transmission, so you'll always be in the right gear, at the right time, within milliseconds, the moment you stomp past the kick-down. It's crazy to think anyone would prefer the muffled noise coming out of a turbo over a high-revving NA V8.

This is why we can't have nice things, and the next generation of performance cars are all going to be electric.

Which part of the interior is cheap on this lower end C7? Please post the interior of your car so I can circle the plastic parts.

The Z06 is and always will be a value proposition in terms of performance and price by comparison to exotics. The era of NA is coming to an end unfortunately.

Everyone on the corvette forum really thought the z06 would be a TT monster and i thought so too but i think they're reserving that powerhouse for the ZR1 or ZORA.

GM knew the last time they could perfect and claim the throne for most power NA out of a V8 was now. With the tech, the engineering and the know how, this is the time. And they did it.

I love hearing the haters though. Just makes it that much sweeter every time i'm in a corvette and i see people giving the thumbs up and taking pics.

That will only get enhanced more when the C8Z's hit the streets. Bang for buck ferrari performance the "average" car enthusiast can buy. GM is awesome!

lol i know. Someone stated it's 2 inches wider than the widebody C7's.

It's not that bad though owning a widebody corvette.

Yeah, it's not 1985 anymore when there was a gap bigger than the Atlantic Ocean as far as quality and technical engineering know-how. The bias is still around, but the giant gap isn't. GM went from a joke as far making performance cars that turn and handle a track to setting the bar in many cases.
