Even after he has paid for them to be repaired a number of times the proper parking technique just doesn't seem to register with him. I give up now telling him to be careful, his car his money.

I found one saleperson disgusting when I was there looking to purchase my car.
Fell asleep on the test drive
Car's turbo died during the drive, and he didnt' say much about it
Drove back to the dealer and he made me drive it to the service bay
The service Manager came and looked at it, said just switch the car off and on and restart it and go for another drive
The salesperson took the car and sped around the block leaving my partner and I in the service area, he didn't say a word to us
He came back and walked inside with us
Fumbled around for ages, talked the normal crap and instead of giving me a changeover price, just gave me a printed A4 sheet with a price of a car with the standard RRP price on it.
I asked what a changeover price would be, he told me to come back another day, so I walked out without saying a word. He probably thought he made a good decision as he clearly thought I was wasting his time

I went back about 6 months later, he was still working there . I reminded him who I was etc etc and he acted glad to see me. I said I still has the Subaru and wanted to work out a changeover price. I sat down he got me a drink and asked where the car was, I pointed outside and then ignored him. He asked for the key and I said it was in the ignition as I knew he would want to check the KMS.

He came back after 5 minutes and he said he couldnt' find my car, I acted shocked and walked fast outside, he followed. I presed the remote key on my 335i and got in, I waved to the fool and drove off

Yes I had nothing better to do that day

So, I have hit a gutter once, but I was soaking wet, cold, it was dark and raining heavily and I forgot how close I parked to the gutter and scrapped the rear right rim. Doesn't look too bad

Where is a good place to get it repaired ?

I sent the feedback to BMW head office, his sales figures must be okay as he was still there about 7 months ago.

I must call up and see if he still works there, job for tomorrow now

Not going to mention his name on here

Hahaha nice one, good way to get one back on the c*ckhead.
As for salesmen i guess i can be luck of the draw, i got one of the sales managers and he was great, probably cos he recognised me from where i worked and the fact that he'd sold my then boss a brand spanking new 745li and a 530i wagon for his wife in the past 12 months, so you could imagine they were more than accomodating.
Don't worry nonetheless i had the exact same experience as you at BMW Melbourne on Kings Way, their loss in my book, as i bought my car at Doncaster BMW that very same afternoon.

As for getting the rims done, ask your dealer, as they get the rims repaired on all the trade-ins they get with curb-rash so they should be able to reccomend someone really good.

Be careful to avoid some of the dodgy tyre places that will sand a bit of the rim off and just respray it, as a keen eye can spot the work.

Basically they have to be sanded, prepped and resprayed now.

Asking your dealer will only get you ripped off twice the going price. Dealers charge $400-$500 per wheel.

It's a panel shops job. Try Charlie Battisti or Superfinish and be more careful.

The dealers don't do it themselves, as such you won't get ripped off.
If you have a half decent dealer he will tell you where the dealership sends their cars (off-premises) to be done, so you can use the same service with knowledge that it'll be done properly.

Yep it's luck of the draw and I will go back to Doncaster BMW when I want to get my next BMW, give them another go!

Yep the rims at the dealer sounds like a plan. I was driving around one of the Manager's BMW's from a dealer for an "extended test drive" before I purchased my car. The car had 400kms on it and both the front and rear left rims were destroyed. The great salesperson made it clear to me that I wouldn't be held resonsible for the previous bad driving of the female Manager.... Yes it was a female driver

I cringe taking any car to get new tyres or wheel alignments as any place I go to seems to stuff up something.

Will drop past my dealer in the next year

Thanks

looks like they did an excellent job. often you need to be looking for the imperfection to even notice the repair
