dude just go to a dealership so they can correctly diagnose the issue. if they say it needs a trans, then put one in it. stop acting so weird about the situation. you dont have warranty then big deal, they still will work on the car.

FYI, every time you take you car without warranty they charge 205$ an hour for labor. Last time I checked, it takes hours or even days for BMW techs to fully find or fix a problem.

I don't understand your last sentence of your post? Your saying why don't you take your car to another BMW service center?

the hourly rate of that shop is 205/hour? wtf?

most BMW dealerships are around 120 @ ......

if its a ball buster yes, it could take days. it should only take a few hours.

when you bring in a car customer pay, you pay a 1 hour check out fee. they diagnose it. if you dont buy it, you pay one hour. you dont pay hourly for diagnosis

at the most i could see 2-3 hours of diagnosis being asked for,(a/c complaints pay 1.5-2.0 check out time) but they have to get authorization from you first to charge you more than an hour. if you dont agree, then you go pick it up.

have you never dealt with a mechanics shop before?

It seems that you will not be able to do repairs on your own. As such, you will need to rely on a service department. Have them diagnose the issue and deal with it.

The BMW service departed in my city charges 205$ hourly. Thats why I thought BMW charges everyone the same fee in all the states?

Lucky ass...

and I'm sure most BMW techs take their sweet ass time to do work and end up charging a crazy labor bill.

Have your wife drive it to the BMW dealership and trade it in on a new 335i or M3.

Of course, you are trading it in "as is."

incorrect. most proffesional techs are flat rate, thus they hustle (well at least the ones that make 90K+)........

when your flat rate you dont have time to fuck around. you diagnose it, give an estimate and put it outside. go get something else. wait on service advisor to sell the work or whatever. by that time, you have worked on 2-5 cars since.

there's a reason flat rate is still around. it weeds out the crappy techs. if they cant flag/work well, then they cant make money. if they dont make money, they go find something else to do.

i still dont understand the mentality of most people i read on forums thinking that people who work at a dealership are scum-shit of the earth. they put their pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else does, me included. just because you messed with something and they dont want to cover it, then all of a sudden they are a bunch of hack/asshole/overcharging/underdelivering/mutiplecomeback/no help businesses. if they were, they wouldnt be in business very long.

i never said BMW were any of those things. I’m just saying that this is my 2nd trans that has Done the same thing. So there must be something else wrong. And like i said I’ve had everything updated in November. And it fixed everything for 2 days. Then all of a sudden it was acting up again.

I guess you either...

A.) Suck it up and drive as is until lease is up...

B.) Find a close or family friend that is or knows a mechanic that can fix your problem for less than 6k
