^ I'm more interested in the handling feel than a tenth difference in the quarter mile. For either though a fixed roof coupe would be best, which is what I'm hoping for.

I'm pretty sure they will. They made one with the current Z4 (coupe vs roadster) and they did the same with the 3er (coupe vs. hardtop cabriolet). The directors of BMW say that because of the difference in dynamics with having a fixed roof and a folding hardtop, they will offer customers who want those differences in their vehicles... at least that was said when the E92 coupe came out (with the E93 already planned out).

bmw doesn't make a v6tt
The M5 is a V10 and it's going to be interesting to see what BMW does to the new M engine line (m3, m5, m6) I'd be interested in a M3 if its a ttv8 running 11's stock

the z4 wont be any faster than the 335/135 at that weight
it has alot of cool suspension adjustments that are almost identical to the m3 though handling will definitely be improved, not so much straight line speed all youre going to gain there is probably some better aerodynamics and so far it doesnt show anything other than hard top convertible, really hope they make a coupe too |

Straight line should be fairly close. This car would handle on rails if it had a fixed roof! |

Top speed for the Z4 sDrive 35i with sport package is only 240km/h? Thats the X6 35i top speed with the same engine!!! Is that electronically or drag limited? Or maybe a typo...
Anyhow, it looks like the Z4 has a higher drag coefficient than a 335i E92, and also weights almost the same... so it should not be any quicker in a straight line (and slower at higher speeds). But on looks alone is a clear winner!

I know, but the speed limit for german cars is usually 250km/h, and this Z4 has a top speed of only 240km/h. Why?

The 7-speed DCT should be available on the '10 E92 (at least one would think this is reasonable ); it's already available on the '09 E92 in Europe and now we know the '10 Z4 will be getting it.

I still don't understand why it tops at "only" 240km/h...
