7000 miles, I think that is around the mileage where the engine is fully loosened up finally.

Remember, Famoso would probably be around 1-1.5mph slower (higher elevation), and it seems Sacramento about 1mph slower (Vbox diff). But still some pretty decent numbers. If I could run 115mph at the track with this combo, that would still be pretty impressive on just around 97 octane max. Also figure on losing about 1mph/10 degrees. So in hot humid Florida, you aren't going to get close to these numbers. The ET should be pretty accurate though when comparing to track times in same ambient temps.

Extremely impressive for tune/tires/gas! Doesn't seem too far off from the numbers your white E90 ran. You mentioned the temp was in the 40s. What was the DA?
Fill it up with some VP MS109 and get it into the 11s |

Yes, Steptronic. DS, letting the trans shift by itself. (As I always do). DSC completely disabled.

Right now I have a SSTT and am thinking about switching over to JB3 or Procede. My car is a March 07 production coupe with steptronic and no other mods other than the SSTT. Only 9300 miles on it so far. Software has never been updated, actually the only time the car has been back at the dealer is for one free oil change. We have 93 octane gas here. Is it worth making the change from SSTT to one of the other tunes? Sorry for going a bit off-topic here.... |

nice runs. but you said you just barely edged by that z4 right? and you have a tune. i figured the z4 would be barely faster than a stock 335 but to almost run with your tuned 335? uh oh

That was on the 91 octane, and Generals. He got the jump. Remember, if someone jumps you and has a 5mph advantage, it will take a while to catch him, and pass him (which I did). He would not line up next to me after that. I would imagine it would have been an easy kill if we both took off the same time. But that car seemed pretty quick nonetheless, and louder than you would expect a stock car to be. So who knows? Thats the problem with roll on races, or jumps...a split second advantage gives one car an advantage that may be hard to overcome till you hit triple digits.

So that new Z4 could very well be 250-300 lbs lighter than a 335i Coupe. That's almost like a 335i coupe having a SSTT on it. I wouldn't be surprised if the new Z4 does 13.0 @ 108 mph stock. It will be a blast with a tune. Nice runs Warren. Seems like the more you beat on your cars the faster they get. LOL Maybe that's the trick with making the N54 run like mad, drive the crap out if it and it will be as fast as your sedan was (since you did hundreds of 1/4 mile passes on that thing). That may explain the shift speed feel too. The coupe's ECU will adapt to the hard runs and make the shift speeds a bit harder too. Good job. |

You are the man. The amount of testing you do is incredible. Were you near the VPC? I see that same license plate # at least every few weeks on a different car, usually on a production car though. I did see it at 5:30am leaving Bob Smith several months ago on a heavily disguised 7-series mule. Keep up the good work!

Wow, where did you get the weight specs of the new Z4
Based on the outgoing Z4 3.0si I was hoping the new Z4 would be right around 3300 lbs at most. |
