Do 5% all around, because it's illegal for you to even touch the front windows, so if you're going to tint them, just do 5. You can do anything you want to the back windows, legally. My tints are 5% in the back and 35% in the front, though. If you're looking for a good place to get it done, let me know. I know a pretty good one down in Van Nuys. Not sure how far that is from where you're at.

I have 14% all around and it seems pretty dark. I had 35% and 20% in the rear window in my old e46 and i wasn't satisfied with it. But i've never gotten pulled over in my e46 for tint. I got pulled over in my e90 about 1.5 weeks ago and the cop told me that they normally won't bother you if the tint is light enough for them to see that you're wearing a seatbelt.

Btw, more pics can be found here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17568
check out the tint on my blue e46, that's 35%

I have the same tint and paid just over 3 here. The only thing I don't like is that it is too light but it is legal in any state so that works for me. They have a tint inspection with the safety sticker so I don't know anyone to get me over and no worth having to get it retinted.

I agree, and I don't want to look like a gangster! In California any tint on the front two window is not legal but the rule of thumb I heard was if you can see the driver has the seat belt on they normally wont give you truble.
