I'm sure it's not the best image for the 1 series to have a ticket-brag thread. But since everyone's doing it, I might as well jump off the same cliff.

Besides, I think I already mentioned this one before in the thread about what car to buy your kids.

My worst was 65 in a school zone back when I was 16. I also got a wreckless driving ticket, and a failure to yeild to right of way. That's because I hit a cement truck that ended up turning left while I tried to pass him. I Bounced off the cement truck and into a power line pole, badly injuring myself.

I'm not exactly sure what happened to the tickets. I know there was some small-town backroom deal made where my parents ended up not letting me have a car again. I didn't drive again until I went to college and bought my own car. I was never told the complete story about the tickets. They just sort of left it hanging over my head for a couple of years, and I knew better than to ask any questions.

$500 ticket not counting lawyer fees, suspended license for 30 days(in Virginia oh well only went down there once since), and I believe thats all. Lawyer was definitely worth it because I didn't have to go to jail!
oh yes...all of my offenses are in VA. So far I've been lucky in texas except for riding with a friend who was street racing. he got arrested on the spot and I had to drive his car back to his house.

on another note, I once got pulled over for using a radar detector, which I knew was illegal. the cop was like wtf are you doing with a VA license, VA tags on your car, and using a radar detector. I replied with "because a $50 fine is cheaper than a speeding ticket" he handed me the ticket and walked away.

115 in a 70 (it was a backroad, so it might've been 55 or 65...memory is fuzzy) in my '99 M3 (only a few months old at the time), while trying to catch up to a buddy I was following. The car only had a sticker on the top of the windwhield so I couldn't it was a cop until it was too late. He flipped his radar on when he saw me (according to my V1). It could've been worse, I was doing 125 when I first realized it was a cop. He was actually extremely nice and with the way he acted, I could've been going 10 over the limit.

You're kidding, right?

When I was 15, I crept out of the house late one night to take my step-fathers sports car for a high speed joyride. Long story short, I was clocked doing 110 mph west on Artesia Blvd. and chased by the Torrance police for many miles. I abandoned the car in Hermosa Beach but was eventually arrested and thrown in jail for not an inconsiderable period of time.

Lesson learned.

90 in a 45. The cop was dark (lights off and no radar) I saw him as he was right next to me but parked on a perpendicular access road. i pulled over and waited 10 min for the cop. (LOL first ticket) he came up and was like "do you know how fast you were going" i said "bout 90" figured he had radared me. He said WTF were you thinking?" told him it ws my B-Day party and that people forgot the drinks, so i went and got them. He looked at me then my passenger asked if he consented he said no. cop said "i could have taken you to jail. Heres your $485 ticket. Take the class and if i ever pull your ass over for this again i will bring you in." 20th B-Day

went home changed my underwear and had a sweet ass party.

apparently I'm not going fast enough compared to all of you.

the 135i should fix that!!

41 in a 25 (and it wasn't a neighborhood. checked the state's rules with the number of houses and distances and stuff and it should have been a 35. But I was 16 and my dad made me go to court for "experience"

I live in Florida but I've made two road trips to Canada. The first time, on my way back I was going through VA (I had a radar detector but didn't know the law). I was doing 90 in a 65 because I wanted to get as far as possible in the first day of driving.

There were three of us that were doing around 80-90. Since there wasn't much traffic we were easily spotted and I was the furtherest back of the three. So naturally I got nailed. The cops exact words were "You know why I pulled you over?" I said "I've got a pretty good guess." (didn't want to admit guilt right away )

He says "Well, I pulled you over because of your tint, and your radar detector...and you were going kinda fast..." He takes my radar detector back with him when he goes to run my paper work. Comes back 10 minutes later with a ticket for my tint and told me to have a good day.

I couldn't believe in VA the state of cops that will jump you if you do 5 over, I got a warning! Especially being an out-of-stater.

I was driving from California to Florida, and was then going to Europe the following week for a semester abroad. I was doing about 110 while passing through the California desert. I had my radar detector with me, and it was about 1:00am, so I wasn't too worried.

I was admiring the lights of the Indian casinos just off the interstate, then I saw those flashing lights in my mirror...no time to react at all. My radar detecter didn't help, since he just paced me for a while.

The stupid thing is that after he took my info, handed me the ticket, and informed me about the court process, I explaind to him that I was going to be out of the country for several months and there was no way I would get the mail or make it to the court date. He said "oh, you should have told me that before. Sorry, but I already wrote up the ticket!"

And so asked many favors of my mom, and was eventually doing an internet traffic school program while in Holland.

My worst was a 76 in a 55. I was stuck behind some moron going 45, and the guy behind him wouldn't pass, so I pulled out to pass them both. I floored it, topping out at 85 or so, got by them both, and immediately slowed back down. A cop was sitting about a half mile down the road shooting laser radar on the spot I just passed on. As soon as I saw him I knew I was screwed. Officer was very nice though, complimented me on my truck, told me that I made a good pass, but was just going a little too fast for him to let me go.

Didn't get a ticket, but a great story...

I got my license at 16 years old, just like most of us. At that time, I had the long hair of a rock-and-roll wannabe. But, before going off to college, I got my then-golden locks shorn above my ears, off of my collar, etc.

Coming back from college one Friday afternoon during my Freshman year, I was probably doing 85 in a 55 zone and going through a known 'speed trap'. I didn't care - I was going to the prom that weekend with a very cute senior in high school - and was only thinking of all that I hoped it might entail (pun intended).

Big ol' Alabama State Trooper pulls me over. I handed him my license with said photo and he looked at it and asked 'Boy, is this you?' I said 'Yes, sir.' He paused for a second, looked at me again and said 'Nice haircut, son.' and walked away.

I have a story,My friend and I were coming back from a party about a year ago, he was driving, We stopped at a Wawa cause we wanted to get somthing to eat. There were 3 other cars with people we know. So we stopped by Wawa, got our food and we were just chillin talking about the party and other shit. There was a pig standing there grillin us. After a while we just took off and he was driving normally not speeding or anything. We got pulled over and he asked for his lisence and registration. After that he walked around the car and when he flashed the back seat he found a piece of grass on the floor because he was mowing the lawn earlier that day, the cop thought it was something else so he made get out of the car and they stripped his car looking for weed but they didn't find anything but some allergy spray for the nose. When they started searching the car I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Well anyway he let us go because he didn't find anything. But he did give him a 200$ ticket for tailgating.

A dear friend, also a PA cop, albeit rural, has expressed embarrassment at the behavior of some of his 'co-workers'.
