Yeah, I heard.. that sucks man! What are you going to do now? Ditch all chances with the M5 knob for sure?

I want to do this, does the knob just pull off or do you unscrew it? Thanks for the idea it looks really good.

The knob just pulls off. I found what worked best was sitting in the passenger seat and holding the knob with both hands, looking like you're ready to pull out Excalibur. Do not twist the knob, just pull straight up.

You can get the OEM MT boot from tischer. I don't recall the part number, so you should try searching or asking jason@tischer.

Oh interesting... I've never heard that. It doesn't require much force to take the shift knob out though. I think it's harder to remove on the MT's than it is on the steptronics, but I've only done this on my own car, so I maybe mine was just loose?

Same here. I was sitting on the driver side and was able to pull the knob with very little force. I also have step btw.

here's what I moved onto from before. I've had the CF trim then moved onto OEM high gloss black. as piano black for e92's are scarce in the US.
