Totally different paradigm

Sure, you can get an STI to run hard, but after driving a pumped wrx for years, (I just got an 07 335i coupe with sport and step), there is no comparison. The subie is brutal, unsophisticated and I would be very surprised if it could hang with a 335 with a tune and exhaust, especially over 40 mph.. Real world or track time, all that midrange torque in the 335 makes all the difference. If it's just acceleration, buy a factory five cobra and supercharge it. End of story. I will miss first gear at 3500 rpms in my rex, tho......

btw, my first post on this forum. Very cool forum

Nothing like low gear acceleration out of a tight corner to make you a believer of AWD/turbo welcome

08' sti =
BUT it is definitely faster then your 328. But it all depends on the needs of the buyer, I had acura's all my life and got a mitsu and people were like "why"? The e90's I must admit are alot faster then they have been in previous years, but the interior is a tad bland. My brother always swore by bmw and we would argue a lot about the pros and cons. Just know that there are a lot of guys with sti's that wish they had your car. lol You see the choice I made.

Seems like out of the box EVO is tuned for asphalt and the STi is tuned for gravel/dirt/snow/bad roads.

The long travel suspension and slight bias to understeer make a LOT of sense the first time you bomb though a random 2 lane back road with many mid corner bumps.

EDIT: anyway i felt a bit better about my choice when I put distance on a cobb stg 2 STi in the esses at infineon. it made being passed like i was standing still on the front straight easier to swallow
