M sport on order, managed to get an affordable deal!,should be here middle of next month, I was told BMW are de-specking cars after march 31st to avoid price increases due to the poor exchange rate, they are having enough trouble selling them without a price increase !

Bit that f**ks me off is when or if you wanted them replaced and in 19inch the bastards had a monopoly for a while and used it to sting the bollocks out of customers....thats sad, they cornered most of the stock and no one had stock..all on back order.

Only a tiny minority of 'enthusiasts' even know what an RFT is let alone hate them. 99% of BMW owners (not any on this forum) couldn't give a toss what tyres are on their car and just order new tyres from the lease company approved tyre supplier. |

Newbie....
I have the pukka trade Jan 09 Glass's guide in front of me - any questions please? Most versions of the E92 335i have lost about £700 - £1000 this month. E93s up to -£1300 this month. Fortunately for me (selfishly) the E91 335i is holding its value better than any other 335i variant... only losing £450 this month! My wifes hond civic has gone UP £125 this month - beat that! Oh the joy of car ownership. |

If BMW really thought that they were losing significant sale to RFTs they drop them for sure. |

BMW are loosing sales, the Audi A4 has overtaken the 3 series in sales for the first time ever over the last 12 months. |

If that is correct that Audi A4s have overtaken sales of 3 series, IMHO it is not because of the ride but simply because it is fashionable to have an Audi for whatever reason. Again, IMHO people who buy Audis generally don't care about ride or handling because if they did, they'd buy something else - the layout of the drive-train just does not lend itself to good handling (engine hanging forward of front axle). Yes the new ones are better than old but still not better than a BMW. I have been in my friend's A3 and the ride is bone jarring compared to my car.

I do agree, but I have just bought a 3.2 Quattro A6 Avant as a second car, couple of reasons, first it is the family car and they are far more comfy than the 5 series and second they loose more money over the first couple of years so you get more for your money.
If it was my only car and I didn't have the M3 I would have bought another E61 as I loved my 535d sport touring, but I have the M3 for having fun and when I want to eat some miles in comfort I think the A6 does a better job. No way would I own a FWD Audi though, biggest bag o' shite ever. Just had a new A4 S-Line Avant for a week and it was terrible. |

I should just add, I bought an A3 DSG S-Line instead of the 1 series, main reason was the A3 I managed to get down to £20k, where as the 1er was £28k and could only get them down to £26k.
It lasted around 5 months before I had to call it a day and cut my losses, we bought a 120d M-Sport instead. That lasted 19 months and I still miss it a year later. The Audi guys will always say there isn't much in it, either they are in denial or they really don't know what a proper handling car is like. |
