i'd just practice shifting fast... BMWs gear box isnt the best thing on the earth but if you get used to it you'll be fine

practice, practice, practice - drag racing is a SPORT ya know

Ya anyone that power shifts their tranny is nuts! Especially on a expensive car! Though you have warranty! But you know how that goes...

haha

i'd pay to see someone try and tell their service advisor they were power shifting and broke something, and were trying to see if it could be covered

shit, watch how you launch, I broke my half shaft in the fall (not common)

listen to the noise at the end

tow the car off the track, call BMW once you're on the street, scrape the numbers off the windshield, and dont leave the helmet in the car

You may want to check for a boost leak. On my second trip to the track with lesser mods (V2 and BMS DCI), a worse 60', and granny shifts, I was trapping a full 10 mph faster than that. My car is no factory freak and I'm no John Force.

Your JB3 has has got to be putting down plenty more power than my V2, although I was running 104 octane which probably more than offsets your tune advantage. The wrong map theory might hold water.

2.0 60' could be alot worse and your 330' time isn't terrible, so you obviously aren't botching the 1-2 shift or spinning like crazy. You just seem to be down on power for some reason. Your top end should be much better.

It's not a great time, but getting good times out of manual transmission cars is never easy. I would start with map 2 or 3 and practice, and also do a few runs in map 0 so you have a baseline.

First, get rid of your "run craps," I mean RFTs. You don't necessarily need DRs; just a set of good non-RFts to get a 1.9sec or better 60ft. Second, something doesn't seem right if you're only trapping 105mph.
