Looks great but as an early procede adopter from 1.47 who shelled out 150 for the V2 harness and $350 for the PnP harness and thus well over $1500 into this purchase I sure do hope Shiv doesn't forget his early adopters and offers a reasonable upgrade path

Would this mean we can then run non-doomsday maps on 29.xx and up versions and then clear the codes...

More POWER for all???

There is NO WAY Shiv will be able to do this! No Way!

...Changing maps in iDrive? Basically this will be the ultimate game changer!

Nice update Shiv. Will the update be in the Rev II itself or a plug like the BT tool?

I'm sure Shiv learned a thing or two playing with the BT tool.

TOO COOL, Shiv! Talk about turning on the afterburners and pulling away from the competition.

Question though - is this going to work with the earlier e90's which, to my knowledge, did not use the DCAN bus?

Shiv, If an order for a Rev 2 was placed recently (2/16) and we recieved notification that delivery would take 3 weeks (On 2/17), will the harness that goes out in 3 weeks be the one that is already updated? Can you clarify the line in the sand of what orders in the pipe will come with the upgraded harness and not need manual intervention?

Awesome news, great development work! Congrats!
Thanks,
Scott

Shiv,

Which CANbus network(s) will this be interfacing? I assume one is KCAN. The other is PTCAN or OBDII?

Hrmm, just thinking about the possibilities here. Referencing oil and coolant temps, ambient temperature as well as ambient pressure for a gage reference and to know when high altitude conditions exist. Requesting adapation values and adjust ignition correction accordingly...

The list goes on and on, it becomes a hybrid of a flash and a piggyback in a way.

Can't call it a flash, unless it really re-flashes the ECU, TCU, etc.

Bah! I should kick myself in the nuts for getting the Bavarian Technic tool. I could have put that money toward a Rev II.

Didn't call it one either.

I said a hybrid in that it is directly interfacing with the DME digitally. But that is really just pie in the sky as nothing has been done yet.
