honestly, if you have done it before, i cant see it taking you more than 5 minutes to get into the ecu with a 8mm socket (not a power drill with a 8mm accessory)...

getting the car back together is usually what takes most of the time for me..

I think there's a niche for folks that want good power, are willing to get into the ECU but wouldn't mind paying a dirt-low price.

I don't think that market is bigger than the SSTT and JB+ potential customers, but it may be there nonetheless.

Personally I think the getting in/out of the ECU is really overblown. The first time felt daunting but after doing it 2 dozen times now and helping others, now I'm like "wtf was the big deal?" But it is hard to beat the open hood - manipulate TMAP - close hood routine for quickness.

It takes like 5 seconds to take the cowl off...
If this offers more adjustment, I would say this is something I would def look into. It also has LED's how cool is that lol.

I guess if you assume that we all make a living off of testing/producing Procede's then yes, it is a sub 10 minute job.

Yes, a lie. When you responded in the other thread people thought that you would develop a true TMAP PnP tune. This is something completely different.

What is the point of getting into the ECU area just to install one subconnector? You might as well just install the other three subconnectors for a full tune while you are in there.

IMO, you missed the complete point of this particular market of buyers.

People are complaining that you have to access the ECU to install this. What is the point of buying this if you can get something with similar results (w/out LEDs ) and not have to access the ECU.

Not a bad thought - Kind of a mini/hybrid V3 pnp. But for me, I would say to invest another 3-5 minutes and just go with the V3 install. In my mind, it is not any more labor intensive.

Yes, there is a cost savings, but that may not be significant given the financial demographic of a 335i owner.

It seems like the tuning hardware applications are starting to get played out.

Just my two cents!

i think the whole idea was not to open up ur ecu box. It is the ease of install that really made the SSTT sell although other, more powerful tunes were in the market. For people like me, it takes a good 30 minutes or so to get to the ecu box. Installing 3 more connecters isnt the problem. Its getting into the box. I like your idea, but i think it fails in what its supposed to accomplish which is a TRUE 1 minute install without any tools and without going into the ecu box. Installing 3 more connectors takes what? an extra 2-4 minutes? hmmmmmm

yea this "I can get in/out of my ecu in 3min" stuff is funny.. From start to end, disconnect batter, removal cowl, battery bus bar, 2 covers, air filter, open ecu box, install tune, and put everything back - If I was purposefully trying to haul as, I might make 9/10min but that's stretching it.

It's usually a 15min job or 20min if I'm replying to e90post..

im usually impressed with the ideas shiv has but this one doesnt seem too practical

to be honest, this will probably result in the sale of more jb3s

once people hear they have to go into the ecu box, and realize that the jb3 is only 130 more, theyll probably go for that

opening that box really freaks out people that are new to this..
