It's looking like we may actually run this Sunday. Forecast is partly cloudy with a limited chance of some rain into the evening.

I just called PR and they are still a go. One confirmation though is that they no longer rent helmets. So get your asses out there and buy a cheap-o helmet if you plan on running.

REnton Motorcylces like Scott recommended is where I went. I bought a HJC CL-31 which wasn't too expensive (little over 100bones).

They lots of other choices as well.

Great helmet, very light, very comfortable. Also it doesn't make you look like a tool which is a constant concern for me

It cool if I borrowed someone's helmet (if that's possible between runs)? I really only plan on running maybe 2-3 times ever, which is why I was relying on the ability to rent. I promise I'll leave the head lice at home.

Sure - you can use mine, but I gots a big head. So if you wanna put your chrome-dome inside a XXL, you're more than welcome.

Could you explain a little more on the competition number? Is this new this year? I went to the strip a couple times last year and they just gave me a number to write on my windows during tech. Are they issuing numbers out to people that we can use for the whole season?

Reason I ask is I might just go to a sign shop and have them make me some magnetic numbers I can take on and off.

I'm planning on going as a spectator but you can borrow my motorcycle helmet. I haven't used it in a while since I sold my bike 3 years ago.
It's an Arai...blue and white it would match your car.

Let me know and I can bring it.

I believe it to be a one-time fee for the season they give you in order to race.

The guy I was going to borrow from just fell through, if the offer is open I would LOVE to borrow it for a couple runs I've been looking all over for a way to rent or borrow from someone else but there just are not many options

Registration starts at 8. I'll be there right at 8 since this is the first of the season and I don't feel like being left out. No idea how many others will show up.

I was wondering the same thing. I think worst case I can hold onto them while you're running and give em back when you're done.
