Just kidding.
hehe, yeah. NA = first gen miata chassis. Cheap and simple, they are usually a lot easier and cheaper to setup for the track. Especially when you start buying replacement tires, wheels, brakes, etc. And if something DOES go wrong, you don't have to worry about fixing it right away, because you still have a nice car to drive to work the next day

Like I said, I had limps galore with previous versions of Procede (track only). I played around with an incarnate of V2 and I have had 15 track days without a single limp mode. And only 4 of those were with the upgraded oil cooler.

Regardless, whenever my limps happened in the past, oil temps were definitely below 300 degrees.

I REALLY would like to upgrade to V3 but am not confident that it is limp free on track. And Shiv doesn't appear to want to give me a money back guarantee. No way I'm buying an upgrade that might be useless to me.

He doesnt want to do that for you? Jesus, now I'm REALLY not confient in my upgrade choice to V3 It just doesnt make sense to me why your car and my car did/do so well with that nightmare known as V2.

I've said it before, but I've had issues with my wastegates sticking open and that has resulted in a CEL.
If your wastegates are also sticking then it wouldn't matter if you have a tune or not.
We know it's not. I was there with my diagnostic tool.

Let me flash it with the LET Motorsport Stage 1!

I was there all day without any issues, not to mention 2 days at Infineon just before that.

I seriously think I have other issues with my car...that are exacerbated by ANY tune.

Steve, Just came back from Infineon. Did a 2:00.3 and don't even know if I got a clean lap. Let's assume I did. My memory stinks.

Here's my deal. I have no tune, stock brakes, TC Kline suspension, Dunlop Direzzas 255 x 17 all around.

Our mods without your tune add up to be similar. I think 2 is OK and I'm sure you have a lot more in your ability than I do. So scrap the tune and come back from the dark side. Maybe the car will like you better and at the very least warranty issues will probably be easier.

Put a big oil cooler in it so you don't lose any of the power you already have.

I know you didn't agree to the deal but you should scrap the tune. Your car is awesome without it.

In the end I just hope you get things worked out with your car.

Hi Jan,

Are you running with NASA today? Is it raining up there?

I think Steve needs to let me flash the LET stage 1 or 2 over the Dinan!

The oil cooler is ready from Code3 Performance and we will be the exclusive distributor...I hope.

Probably getting rid of the Dinan tune would be the first step.

I was with Trackmasters yesterday. It was a good day with a lot of interesting cars.

It is raining and is supposed to rain tomorrow too.

I got some pad deposits on my rotors...arggghhhhh! vibration under hard braking in the last session.

I also broke another wheel bolt. Had to get it taken out during the 4th session. Another arrrgggghhhh!!

It was raining intermittently today. I managed 7x20min. sat out one session to ride as a passenger in 'godzilla'

There was enough open track for me to drive as hard as I could for the entire session for 5 of the sessions. awesome day.

If you can get the V2 (Version TWO, not the latest V3) hardware and harness, I can send you the map that has worked for me for the past 15 limp-less track days. You can probably get it on the forsale forum for dirt cheap.

I asked around to see if V3 is track worthy, but no track users have responded. You can find my thread on the main FI forum.

I am holding off on buying V3 right now, but I can tell you my specific V2 map has worked for me for 15 days.
I know of a PROcede V2 laying around if anyone is interested! /threadjack

535i Dinan Issues

My 2008 535i has about 70k miles on it so it is out of warranty and I added a Dinan Stage II chip last week. About two blocks from the Dinan Authorized BMW dealership the Engine Warning light went on so I pulled back into the shop. A couple of hours later they said it's not your fuel pump, but that the Dinan chip was causing problems with the pumps. They said I should be fine, so off I drove. About one block from the dealership the light went back on. Now I'm a bit put out because it should have been right the first time not the second time, and certainly not the third. Another two hours in the shop and they say, "You probably have blow your turbo, but it has nothing to do with your Dinan, nothing to do with Dinan, NOTHING." Of course I drove in with $2,240 dollars in my pocket and a perfectly running 535, and walked out with a blown turbo and an engine light that is still on. No loaner car needed they said, "you are fine."

To be fair, I have a great BMW store and I am a repeat customer with strong relationships in both sales and service. I don't know how they are going to look at this issue, and I don't know the rules.

Can anyone shed any light on how this should play out?

wow dude. You did an excellent job of using the search tool. Sadly, this subforum doesn't get much traffic. Post this same thing in the more heavily trafficed General or Turbo forums. I recall a story of a guy raising hell and getting positive results by dealing directly with the man Steve Dinan.
