I would say first get a quote on the cost and I wouldn't be surprised for it to be on the very high side like 200+ but just for piece of mind I think you should just get a new one even though you'll have to bite the bullet again and pay for your custom paint

Anyone try Alloy Wheel Repair? They advertise in Brian Jessel Magazine.

I'm surprised you didn't blow out your tire. That is one huge dent. I'd get the wheel replaced and have the mounting/balancing shop take an extra good look at your tire before they install it on the rim, just to make sure there's nothing wrong internally. Last thing you want is to blow out the tire a few weeks/months from now and destroy a new rim.

Try calling Korva Collision on West 2nd in Vancouver; the wheel repair shop they use is fantastic and don't charge a fortune. (Assuming they can actually fix it!)

IMO, whether the wheels are forged, semi forged, cast or even made out of tofu, if you run over a pot hole deep enough, you wheels will be ruined

there are plenty of cases on this forum that ive seen who have forged wheels (won't name any brands here) that got bent due to driving over pot holes or running over a curb

Generally...the theory is that when you have a high pressure forged wheel...it should crack before it will bend.

Cast wheels will be more likely to bend than crack.

claiming it with the city does work, it might take awhile (so depends how time is valuable to your or not), but i've heard on the news before, the city of Vancouver have something like $20 million (don't quote me on this number) in their annual budget to claims like this

but as with every situation where you are asking for money from the government, it will take almost till the end of time, so your choice, but the money IS there!
