I'm a part time independent photographer, and do all my work from home, unless I need to go for a shoot outdoors.
Whats good about it, wake up times are flexible, I could also do house work during breaks, and play music as loud as I want. |

I'm self-employed and work from home:
Pros: - With what I do, I can set my own hours, as long as I meet the deadlines. - Can go out for drives with the top down whenever I want; weather permitting. - No petty office bitches/and or having to listen to constant whining!!!! (It sucks being a chick and working in an office most of the time. The miserable gossips always try to suck you in!) - Don't have to answer to anyone but my clients. No stupid boss with littlemansyndrome! - No commute. I think I put 4K miles on my car last year. - I make more money and work less hours. - Can work in my PJs! - Can run errands and take care of other stuff. - I can travel anywhere I want and stay for as long as I want (which is why I spend 3 months out of the year in Florida) as long as I have: internet connection, my laptop, and cell phone. Cons: - Can't learn from others around you. - Don't meet as many new people. - Get sidetracked by other things in the house. - At times can be hard to discipline yourself. - Never know exactly how much money you will make every month. - Scary first starting out. - KEEPING BOOKS! Damn, I never actually made a list. I'm so glad I quit my full time job! |
