Guys,
Well, it's been a pretty bad economy alright and I've been on the short hand of it. Just lookin' to see if there are any ghetto rig, but decent, alternatives that I could do to rid those dreaded amber reflectors on my e92 (space gray). I'm on a really tight budget and thought there'd be someone out there who maybe cleverly used some tape or inexpensive paint to get the same effect as painted reflectors. If anyone out there has done something like that with good results, I hope you can help. Pictures would be awesome. |

take them to your local body shop and have them painted to color match your car. That is what I did with my reflectors and it only cost me $15, they turn out great!

if you can do it for that price i would too but if not just get some VHT Nightshade and take them off and spray them yourself. its not hard and feel a sense of accomplishment when they look great! gl

I think going ghetto on your 50,000 car is IMO ridiculous...Just save up a bit and do it right, rather than ghetto fabricate something...Your not driving in a old school civic!

If you are on that tight of a budget the cheapest thing to do is leave them alone and concentrate on more important things like finding a job that pays you more.

It sounds like the body shop is the best solution thus far. It's not so much that I can't afford the reflectors, as I have quite a bit of other mods already. It's just that I don't find the value in paying $80 for painted reflectors when, as other members have pointed out, they have had good results spending less money. Not to turn this into a financial planning thread, but I just think it's smarter. Not sure if anyone else agrees. Thanks for the advice, guys. I'm headed to the body shop and will post pictures of the outcome.

50k car but you can't suck up 70 bucks? Either get them professionally painted, or the already painted reflectors. A ghetto job will look terrible and mismatched.
This is the wrong car for you my friend. |

just save for these. painting the reflectors will lead to it peeling off in time and you will end up paying more
