Is this by reading the equivalent of the Bav Tech "Status Knocking" flag? If so it doesn't seem to be compeletely accurate. I could set this off almost at will at cruise by blipping the throttle ~10% and not see any related changes to timing.

If this reads "real" knock related activity that would be very nice.

-oil temperature which will induce a valet when temp is low and reducing User Torque/boost level when temp starts to rise. Perfect for track junkies and those without factory oil coolers. We did some testing this weekend and found a very strong correlation between high oil temp and knock activity. Makes sense to add it into the tune. Not just for safety but also for drivability and performance.

Yep... we're going to filter out the activity that is off-boost since that seems to be just engine noise. The ECU doesn't seem to concerned either since there is no accompanying timing retard.

No splicing. Just extract two wires from the PnP harness and swap locations. All the units that are shipping now have this work already done.

100% correct.

Any reccomendations for octane levels, if the appropriate stage map is loaded (not that anyone would install a map that isn't appropriate for their modifications ), for the percentage change? Looking forward to testing that with some varying octane levels and see what my FATS time drops to.
We'll provide recommendations that will get you most of the way there. But for max performance, you'd want to play around with this value yourself. And since the PROcede will log actual ignition timing and knock status, all the tools are present

Email is best (shiv@vishnutuning.com). Or you can just call up ASR on Monday. I should be there

I'll be bringing down a few CANbus PROcedes in case locals want any free installs.

Shiv,

I will swing by on Monday to get my Rev 2 installed. What time would be best? See you then!

I'd LOVE to go into valet instead of hitting limp mode every time the oil temp goes too high on the track. Two questions;

1) What point (temp) does it induce valet and what is the user torque level actually at when it does this.

2) Ive asked this before, but is valet the same as bypassing? If not, then is it essentially negating free flowing mods witch results in increase boost?

Oh... one more thing. It was suggested, on another forum, that our code/data reading feature only applies to OBD data and not BMW extended data. That is untrue
