In regards to the highway references it's funny b/c back in college I went to school in socal and I ended up adapting to saying "THE 60 or THE 101" but as soon as I moved back to the bay area I naturally went back to saying "take 24 west" or "680 south". I don't know socal people and norcal people say it differently but they do.

I have to agree on this one sadly. I use to love House of Prime Rib and would defend it adamantly against Lawry's. But the past several years have seen a significant cut in portions, and diminishing flavor. During the same time, Lawry's has kept its quality, maybe even getting better. Pretty bummed by it.
Epic roasthouse is a sweet steak spot. Waterbar next door is the place to get your drinks on while enjoying the view of the bay. Harris Steakhouse can't be beat. If you want to enjoy the perfect lunch/afternoon spot, go to Hog Island Oyster Bar at the ferry building. Order the Kumamotos, their grilled cheese sandwich, and a bowl of their clam chowder. All the while enjoying the view of the bay and bay bridge during the day. Afterwards stroll through the ferry and soak up the bay atmosphere. It's hard to think of anything else that can beat this for a relaxing day.
