I was actually just reading about using an UZI as a HD gun on a forum, where people are talking about just having a small handgun very easily accessible, so that you can "fight/shoot" your way to the "real guns"...do these sort of scenarios actually happen? do people use a .38 to shoot their way to their gun locker so they can get out the AK-47, and take down the small army invading their home? |

what's funny is, they are harder to come by, and totally illegal here.... it is even very difficult to own a handgun in Canada (you need a special license more difficult to obtain than for a hunting gun)... 99.99999% of firearms in Canada are Rifles/shotguns

Can't a burglar in certain states sue you if they slip on your wet kitchen floor and hurt their back, let alone get shot in the back! LOL

I have 2 taurus revolvers and they are really high quality and incredibly reliable. You can pay ~$200 more for a S&W and you do get better trigger pull, but not worth it IMO. Go with the gun above, it holds 8 rounds of either .38 or .357, the only other one like it costs $400 more.

there's a reason there's soooo many s&w wheel guns, I'm getting one, someday, 1911 is next on my list. If it's just for home defense a shotgun is best, easy to operate, a full frame wheel gun is easy to learn.
carry pistols <> home defense imo I would not go with a semi auto unless you have some experience with handguns I've got a taurus pt140 pro, nice gun, single/double action semi auto, reliable, light, wife hates it, long trigger pull and it hurts her hand to shoot it I carry this in my pocket everywhere, this little sucker stings too, .32 seecamp, it's soo tiny I dont even realize it's there, I found I did not carry the taurus often because it's just too big and obvious probably will be some comments that a .32 is too small, but it's better than nothing at all, which is what I used to have most of the time

my .02...shotgun is your first choice...revolver is second...the Ruger GP-100 is a very nice gun...i have one...perfect for hollow point .38...black talons if you can find them...I would argue AGAINST any semi-auto for safety unless you shoot frequently...most can be tempermental with various loads and jam...I would recommend 500 rounds through a gun of the load that you are going to shoot before I would trust my life on any model of semi-auto...
