I shouldn't give the impression that the driver doesn't matter... but a decent speaker in a great enclosure sounds better than a great speaker in a flimsy enclosure.

Personally, I love corner-loaded fiberglass enclosures, because they retain max trunk space and sound better (stiffer, nonreflective internal surfaces, corner-loaded for more output, no back-wave cancellation to worry about...). I love having a subwoofer, but not enough to live with a wooden box in my trunk.

Check out my post in the Audio section. I got a Hertz 12" Sub that was made in Italy. If you are looking for a brand that is made in the US for a good price, I would go with phoenix gold. If you want your trunk to rattle and sound nasty, then go with a jl w7 or mtx sub. I have been into sound systems for a long time and here are the brand you should go with: Hertz Audio Subs/Component Systems, Audison Amplifier, Phoenix Gold Anything, Pioneer Premier Head Units. If you wanna get expensive stuff, get Focal or MB Quart. The best bang for the buck for speakers/subs/amps is Phoenix Gold & Hertz for sure. Hertz is coming up in the car audio scene, you should really check them out.

Nelson, weren't you on A-zine?

PG hasn't been made in the US in a long long time, my man.

What is A-Zine? I purchased PG that was made in the US. Those models were the best, and they came out a long time ago. You could still purchase them online.
