I test drove both when I was looking a few months back. For me the 328i won out for its quicker acceleration and much better handling. The A4 definitely has the nicer interior, but the 328i isn't that far behind and IMO I prefer the look of the exterior of the 328i over the A4, which seems a little plain (with the exception of the LED headlights).

I also found the A4 to be a little more expensive than a comparably equipped 328i, and the Audi dealer I went to seemed less willing to negotiate on price (although the car had just recently come out at that time).

its a tough chioce.

The A4 looks really sexy. more elegant than the bmw. if you are looking for a commuter that is both comfortable and luxurious with lots of features than the A4 is the choice.

If you are a driver, and requires that "connectivity" to the road than go bmw.

but 70% i would say fit the first choice.

from the little that I understand about you, I would choose the A4.

Keep in mind this IS a BMW forum. Ask the same question on the Audi forum and they will tell you to get the A4. You should head over to the Mercedes forum and ask the same question

OP, as much as i love the feel of bmw i wasnt really looking to get one. Since I never liked the e90 look. Audi always made nice cars and with every model it seems to get better and better. I wanted e92 but could never afford one. New A4 came out and i liked it allot, the look, the leds. Lately leds on a4 pissing me off tho, dont know why. (i love the ones on a5 and r8) Anyhow this year i got enough money to get a new car and i was looking at C class/Audi/323i. BMW cause of new look The only reason i wanted Benz/Audi cause of AMG/Spack.
I thought i'd go with which ever will be cheaper but after test driving all I really set my mind on 323. Problem is it doesnt have the options i needed so im pushing for 328i now
I was happy 2 weeks ago with 328i Until i found out Mpack coming out in June. So now i dont know wtf to do.
M pack or no Mpack M pack is expensive for me since im already pushing for 328i instead of 323i.
Im not even considering A4 or c class now. Im in T.O. and I go snowboarding allot so AWD would be a + yet im going with RWD

You could always get an xDrive 328i if you want an AWD car.

A4 has nice looking front but dont like the rear...and the handling is really...ya..lol...but than although A4 has turbo the engine is still not powerful enough. 328 doesnt look as nice power not much difference but handles much better...so hard to decide...if he wants to mod like you than 328 more fun..

i have a 3 series.2009.. sorry but no way that interior design is 2nd place. It should be at the bottom. The dash is horrible for an expensive car

well thats because u got 323i interior
with 328 or 335i the interior is a little better (elec climate control)

idrive interior > audi with navi interior

The Idrive adds a LOT to the interior look of a BMW but it is a LARGE added cost and hes on a budget.

It's really a tough choice but I do love both cars.

exactly. Audi interior is great but bmw isnt bad either. Again i went with 328i instead of A4. The only audi i would consider is S5 and r8. Both hot cars. However even S5 i would not take because you can get c63 for the same money and there is no way i will pass on that car. Different strokes for different folks i guess.
