Lovely, I hope the Japanese big 3 comes back. GT-R is here and LF-A seems close... where is the NSX?

I get a kick out of people saying "Who is gonna pay 200k for a Lexus." Mark my words, PLENTY. Lexus will sell every single last one of these cars.

Similar sentiments were echoed about twenty years ago when Lexus was created. Now look at them. They are now the largest premium automaker in the United States. They also have a reputation of being the most RELIABLE and have some of the best looking/feeling interiors as well. The sportiness was the only thing that wasnt there. They are slowly starting to change that. I'm in the automobile consultation business. Some of you folks have NO IDEA how many sales BMW and the like lose to lexus b/c people with money fear a car that dosent have a rep for bulletproof reliablity.

I would bet this astronomically priced car will be less of a PITA to maintain as well. Yeah Yeah, I know there is some big misconception that those that afford it wont care. I'm guessing some of those buyers didnt get that rich by making stupid decisions.

**I mean look at the damn thing. The wing is flippin huge. Its un-lexus like. Have you heard the sounds? This will be to Lexus what the 600k SLR was to Mercedes. It might even pull it off better.

We all heard who would pay 80k for a Nissan too. Those things are everywhere now.

Just listen to that:

I don't know, but I think the LF-A sounds WAY better - more racy, you gotta love that high pitch of the v10 at high rpm, kinda formula 1:

Also, I'd buy it over a Ferrari if it doesn't have the ridiculous maintenance that some of the Ferrari's have. I already told the dealership to keep their eyes/ears open for me.

if Toyota decides to bring this to the states, they must keep production low. There will not be much of a demand for this vehicle, when it has not been proven and it runs over $200k. Just like the GTR Vspec, which is not coming to the states it will be hard to sell here if it does. At $150k, it no longer is a value to those who could afford cars in this range. For the GTR, for example again, at $75k and running at supercar specs territory, that is a Bargain.

Why do people buy Aston Martins, Maserati's, etc? I mean, everyone wants a Lambo or Ferrari anyway.

I mentioned those two as examples within that price range (even a little bit cheaper). Maserati doesn't have anything in that range but DB9 can be a strong alternative.

I was just throwing out names that makes supercars. Sure most people would rather get a LP560 or F430 at that price but there are others that want something different or something new.

It's like buying BMW because everybody else has an MB.

I agree with you on that, but for different reasons. Like the SLR, the LF-A will be priced way higher than anything they currently sell and like the SLR, the LF-A will struggle to sell because it's overpriced for what you get. I remember visiting MB of Tampa Bay 6 or 7 times last year and after the fourth visit, every time I would ask the salesman I meet with, "Still have it?" "Yep" he would reply. It was a black on black SLR with <100 miles and price reduced multiple times. He told me it was happening everywhere, since people who had the money were going for the likes of the 599 and the (used, obviously) CGT
