All that tells me is that the R8 is cowardly.

lmao, the man covers the child's eyes when it drives by.

You've got to admit that Audi has some clever/funny marketing, I enjoy several of their commercials.

I doubt that will happen. I get the feeling that once you go Italian, you really can't go back. If I was looking at F-cars and the like, I really don't think I would consider the R8 V10

And about the note in the video at the beginning

Notice F1, not GT3 in which the Audi R8 LMS does race...
Could this be Audi foreshadowing its entrance into F1??? I called it here, folks

Not very likely in this economy. What with Ferrari and Renault threatening to pull out

Well with the new F1 budget cut it is very likely that it could happen for 2010. Ferrari and Renault are threatening to pull out because than wont be able to spend as much in development as before.

Nice but I would get a lambo over that...The R8 draws way too much attention.

And a Lambo would just fly under the radar....??

I doubt the citizens of Zwickau/Neckarsulm have such an emotional tie to their Audis so as to draw such a reaction like the Italians had.

The lambo's aren't stealth either but people are more used to them. I don't turn around when I see a lambo. In the summer people see lambo's and Ferrari's on a daily basis but are clueless when they see an R8. The R8 looks so futuristic.

Ha well you live in Montreal. I guess it's different there. I see on average 2 R8's a week. The car honestly doesn't appeal to me that much. Now when an F430 pulls up next to you and gives you a thumbs up to boot. You can't help but stare at it.

I've seen a few R8's in Vancouver including a matte black done by a local shop here. I like the R8 but you'll be surprised how many people think it looks like a larger version of the TT.

Yes, there are quite a few in Vancouver which actually makes me wonder. I heard a commercial last year which said there are something like 73 R8s in Canada ... maybe they meant at the time, because if that's true, then we have a rather disproportionate number of R8s here in the GVA.

Personally, I'm more quick to turn when I see a Gallardo or a Murci. A raging bull is less common than the four rings are.

Audi couldn't carry any of the F1 teams' jockstraps, they should stick to Le Mans where they can barely fight off Peugeot.

Take that ferrari? Your kidding right? No one in their right mind aould take the R8 5.2 over a Ferrari IMO. I love the R8 in V8 guise it makes a lot mroe sense to me though. Almost 200 large for the 10 cyl is wacky to me.

Don't get me wrong, Audi's a great brand... but, treading water in shark infested waters is just not smart. Plus, any current ferrari owns the r8.

I don't get why everyone is getting so worked up over it. It was a brilliant commercial. Audi's confidence and complete change in attitude is why they're on such a tremendous upswing. 6 years ago, no one would be talking about them right now. And now, you're doing exactly what they want you to do.. having multipage threads about them.

The point was that Audi has a car that even Ferrari has to pay attention to. Say what you want, but BMW has nothing to compete with the R8.
