Just got done work, getting dark here ... But you'll get the point.

The Tint is 3M , I forget the % (It was as dark as I could get here) I'll take some more pictures in the sun tomorrow for anyone who is skeptical.

I had the Geoshield Dark Matter ceramic 38% installed 2 weeks ago for $350.
I'm impressed with the heat reduction.
It really looks great on my silver E90.
The 38% is really like a 50%.

It makes sense that 5 or 10% tint will look better over the dot matrix area. Also, we're going to need a pic with a wee bit more light. I'm not trying to say yours isn't looking good - it's just that we're now comparing apples to oranges, in my opinion.

BTW, for those who don't know...the higher the %, the LIGHTER the tint is - i.e. it's the % of light that's allowed to pass through the tint.

yes the percent in tint refers to the amount of visible light transmitted so the lower the percent the less light comes through, and the darker it looks. on another note the lighter the tint the better it its going to look on the dot matrix due to there being less contrast. Also ceramic film tends to be thicker than the cheaper dyed versions. the thicker the film, again, the worst the dot matrix is going to be. that being said when i was at cars and coffee this weekend i did compare mine to others and thought mine looked better on the dot matrix than most. also remember i just got it done and its still curing. i think the geoshield brochure said that the full cure time is 1 week, i got it done saturday.

I can tell you that my ceramic (HO-35%) tint took 2 months to FULLY dry. It was done in March so it wasn't that warm out yet....so yours should take less time considering the recent weather.

Thats a relief. I got HO from a great tinter but its been ~2 weeks and there are still some small pockets in the sides and some decently sized ones on the windshield near the mirror. I was hoping it was just still wet because he told me it could take upwards of 3 weeks to fully dry.

I am getting my car tinted at Tint-King as I type this in their waiting room (which is very nice...nice couches and LCD 32" Cable TV). He sold me on the geoshield and it only costs $290 for my e92 ($40 more than the Llumar that I was going to go with). I read the geoshield pamphlet and it says that the film at first may appear to be hazy or have water bubbles, but they say that this is normal and will disappear. They say to give it 4-6 weeks for the film to cure. I hope it looks good...I am going with legal tint because I have no need to get pulled over anymore (20% on my G35 Coupe).

ask him why he charged me 300 with a "discount". i think all those places go on the fly with pricing. they charge you what they feel like charging you. i dont think the material costs that much so its all profit for their labor.

Edit: Yes the couches are very comfy

^Glad to hear you like it. At first I remember you said it was a little hazy. Probably needed more time to dry. The tint quality looks very solid. I am extremely happy with the Suntek on mine.

I absolutely love it! The tint is blacker than the Llumar that I was thinking about going with and I actually did not see any haze in any of the windows. I think since it was warm the first two days, it adhered to the window well. Great tint so far!
