The timer stops soon as the GTR comes round the last corner, it then drives down the straight which is untimed and pulls into the pit lane. This pit lane entrance is the end of the Green wall where the timer started in the beginning.

In the start of the video it takes about 6secs for the GTR to cover the straight before the timer start. So no they didnt include the straight and that lap should have been about 6 seconds longer.
This.

Touche

They count the long straight but not the shorter one that goes into the pits.

This makes Nissan's claim seem even more suspicious. Horst is one of the best "Ring" test drivers in the world and could only manage 12-13 seconds slower.

Shenanigans.

Yes he is, but he only does 3 laps of the ring during a Supertest, unlike the hundreds that Suzuki has done. You also need to consider that the Nissan car in these tests had it's suspension tweaked, not changed but adjusted inside the factory guigelines.

The question you need to be asking is how much of an improvement would this given the GTR and then think about the different rims and rubber used on that 7:26 lap.

In my opinion Horst's time vindicates Nissan's claims that not only was the car stock in power (something I always stood by) but was totally stock in everyway, excluding the suspension tweaks which can be carried out by any GTR dealer.

Suspension tweaks != 12-13 shaved off time.

Nissan is a bunch of lying rats.

Nissan already recreated the lap. Ran even better with a 7:27 time.

Cool

That GTR wasn't stock. Don't care what anyone says.

One of the best Ring drivers in the world couldn't come within 10 seconds of their time.

There is quite a few cars that Horst can't get within 5~6 seconds of factory driver's times, some as great as 11 seconds and the stock GTR with the standard rims and rubber ran a 7:29 lap not the 7:26, so he is only 9 seconds off Suzuki's pace which if the suspension was tweaked would logically account for the other 3~4 seconds.

You are letting your biased opinions cloud your judgement.

Footie, you are a member of the subtle-Nissan fanboy club on this board. I wouldn't expect much from your opinion.

The GTR is what the Evo 8 was when it came out. Cheap, with a shit load of performance. It would take cars twice as expensive and out handle lambos and ferraris in the canyons.. my point being there will always be cheap power and the GTR can really be faster.. who cares though I would still take the porsche over it if it was a minute slower.

This car sucks in the end!

Because the car was not stock and anyone who thinks it was or tries to argue that fact is retarded. I have no doubt that this is a great car(or could be if you were allowed to drive it without voiding the warranty) but with the rising MSRP(Isnt it up around 90,000 now) and warranty issues is it a better value than a 997 turbo or GT3?....NO!!! A GTR fresh out of a dealer would never achieve this...as footie would say "All you need is new rubber, exhaust, suspension, ECU tune which all available from the dealer"!!! Its all a moot point anyway because if you drive this car fast it will void the warranty so who cares?
