I have friends over seas and they tell me that the minimum octane there is 91 then 93 and 105. I would assume that the higher octane makes the car run much better causing less fuel related problems. On the bright side of things we do still have some of the least expensive gas in the world - I guess you get what you pay for.

That's the same problem I'm having. All injectors and the HPFP replaced, but it's still happening. Throwing codes for misfiring on 4 cylinders.

To all of the above.

I'm in Africa, use 95 fuel and car is Euro spec. My 08 335i did almost 60000kms without any trouble. Not even a rattle.

Then the cold start rough idle / engine malfunction shit started - car would run fine rest of day. Replaced coils (?) before new injectors fixed problem.

Was happy for 1 week.

Car started surging when driving, intermittently only - now getting new HPFP.

There's no hidding anywhere in the world. The 335i has a fuel problem

Time to start an official "Who has had a 335i fuel problem thread" ???

Mine's in the shop for the 3rd time right now. So far they reprogrammed the ecu, and now they're running other tests... I think they are looking at the fuel injectors again. We'll see when I get it back.

e90 awd - what ever happened with your car?

Mine was in the shop 5 days to reprogram the ecu... a couple days later, more misfires and SES light again. That's 3 failed attempts to fix it... now I'm pushing for a new car.

Looks like I'm taking over this thread.... I'm still having problems so I have to vent.

My car went in for a 4th time and a BMW engineer worked on it. During diagnostics, they tested my battery and it failed, so they blamed the misfires on low voltage at startup. The story I got was that my short commute (8 miles each way) degraded my battery and caused the whole thing. Maybe it drained during all the testing they did... it's been in the shop 15 days over the last 6 weeks.

Guess what... the day after getting a new battery, my car continues to misfire. The SES light isn't on (yet), but my case for a buyback is just getting stronger.

It looks like you are in PA - Some lemon law facts:

The Pennsylvania Lemon Law applies to new cars that suffer a nonconformity; a defect or condition, which substantially impairs the use, value or safety; that cannot be repaired after three attempts by an authorized manufacturer's dealership. This nonconformity must first occur within the first 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. The Pennsylvania Lemon Law also applies to vehicles that are in the shop for repair thirty (30) or more calendar days during the first year.

The PA lemon law also includes leased cars.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I figured I was over the threshold for the lemon law. For now, I'm trying to push the dealer to handle this internally before I have to get a lawyer. But everytime they make excuses, or try to turn this around like it's my fault or no big deal, I get more pissed. Next time, they shouldn't give me a 335 loaner that I can compare my car too... mine is obviously not right.
