I have the adaptive in my LCI its great you get Bi Xenon and they are also used to flash people. The inside bulbs are your cornering bulbs to light up when indicating and turning hard left/right. You also get high beam assistant which takes a while to get use to when it turns on high bean for you but great as it turns it off when incomming cars come towards you. Its also quicker reacting then you would be. Finally the adaptive lights take a bit getting use to especially when cornering fast as all of a suddent you loose the perception of turning as when the light swould would in old days with the car but great for visibility

Many thanks 'magic77' for the info and advice on adaptive. I hav'nt read much about it but what I had it all seemed a good idea to make night time driving that little bit less of a hastle. Which it can be at times!

sport package, bluetooth and updated audio. Heated seats if you go for leather seats.
The upgraded audio is a must have as the basic BMW system is really pants. And for what it costs versus the quality you get its very good deal. Unless you do it yourself (and even then) to do a decent aftermarket install without ripping the head unit out its quite difficult and usually almost much more than the cost of the BMW option.

its better but if you can stretch the budget I would or bin adaptive and high beam assistant, i have both on the E61 but not on the M3, but I have L7 in the M3 and standard audio in the E61 and I'd happily swap the adaptive for better audio.
Adaptive is a gimmick in my view and the High beam assistant is better than useless on most dark roads.

My new white 59 E90 320D arrived last week and in the end i just went with the basic SE.
Unfortuantly there is no ECU map available yet due to new ECU protection so Eibachs now first on the list of mods. rear light look a bit naff by the way they dont line up between the boot apart from that great car so far. |

the adaptive can be a gimick though down my way on the back pitch black roads I do find it a tad usefull. Irony is when I ordered mine back in March, it was better deal to get the visibility pack (xenons, washersm adaptive lights, auito wipers, high beam assitant) then just xenons and washers. I think about 50-100 in it. And standard halogen lights are a no no in my opinion, so went for the lot, at least if I sell it privately eventually it will have a more appealing spec
