my ex had Dior/LV you name it... the cheapest being $1200 ones.. and she had a total of 21 different purses.. yeah....
but thats how Tokyo is... pretty women get gifts all the time from rich Japanese men.... we Americans don't need to supply anything but ourselves since we are life-sized fashion accessories lol

I need to stop modding too

i want:
exhaust
DPs
FMIC
JB3

It looks like that kit is only if you didnt have paddles to start with, did you have them before? Is the kit really needed for installing DCT paddles on the BMW Performance wheel?

Shame on you James, steering wheel is the real deal..... laptimes, quater sprint, G meter, oil/water temp etc it's all in there....... lots of fun to play with. Main reason for a different steering wheel is I wanted paddels becase I shift manually a lot more now to play with the exhaust note of the performance mufflers.....

Gr,

Mark

MuchMoore, kit from burgertuning is for all paddles, regular and DCT. I had nothing before I started and liked the DCT paddles more so decided to go with them. Same cable from burgertuning.

MuchMoore : had the leather done buy a specialist in leather car interiors in The Netherlands. It was about 3000 euro including the seat heating. I didn't have leather when I bought the car so decided to go full leather and make it just a little bit different.

Gr,

Mark

Hi MarkE92, I like your mods and I have a special interest for the gauges and the steering wheel!

I checked out the burgertuning site. It says you need to buy a few extra's:
- paddle shift steering wheel
- paddle shifters
- steering wheel control module

Could you tell me where you bought those and who did the fitting in the car:
you yourself, a dealer or a third party?

I am not very technical, so for me it would be best to have it done, preferably by someone who did it before.
I would really appreciate the addresses in The Netherlands since I live there as well.

Hello R1200RT....... BMW biker as well.......

I ordered the BMW parts at my local dealership and the cable with burgertuning, they supply a list of parts you need so first order the cable and than you will receive all the info you need with art codes you can order at your dealer.

Friend of mine installed it all, BMW dealer will probably don't do the install because they say you can't get paddles installed afterwards..... they simply don't make a adapter cable to make it work. You can always ask your local dealer if he wants to instal it...... you will never know.

Groeten,

Mark

Ahh ok, that explains it...you didnt have paddles to start with. Thank you for the extra information, sorry for any confusion!

love those gauges in the ashtray, way to maximize space. imo takes a space that is useless for most people and makes it into a perfect spot for some nice upgrades

Talking

Because I presume some people are considering the same mod as Mark92 has performed , I might as well share my info.

Yesterday evening after a beer I decided to order the plug & play paddle shift conversion harness (USD 227,- + 28,- postage to The Netherlands) = USD 257,- at http://www.burgertuning.com/paddles.html

Today I received a mail with the parts I need to install the BMW Performance Wheel Upgrade with the DCT paddles:

• (2 QTY.) Paddle Torx Screws BMW Part # 32346759915
• (1 QTY.) 32300445258 BMW performance Steering wheel for DCT paddles
• (1 QTY.) Left Shift Paddle, Rocker type BMW Part # 61317840476
• (1 QTY.) Right Shift Paddle, Rocker type BMW Part # 61317840477
• (1 QTY.) Steering Wheel Controls/Switch BMW Part # 61319123287(09/2008 build date & after 61319125344)

Tools Needed for our paddle shift retrofit:
• 10mm Wrench/socket to disconnect the battery (Included in the OEM bmw tool kit above the battery)
• Large flat head screwdriver (prying the center console up, steering column cover removal)
• Medium flat head screwdriver (removing the airbag)
• 16mm socket with extension (steering wheel removal)
• Wire coat hanger or equivalent to pull the harness through the dash

• T20 & T30 torx tools (steering wheel parts)

I have tried to trade in my M-sport steering wheel at my local dealer, but he responded that the M-wheel has only "symbolic value"

Next challenge is to get the other parts at a reasonable price
