Put that grand into a Corvette and you can see both cars in your rear view mirror( like it needed any mods to do it anyway).

Plus, I have seen the new GT500 be clocked 0-60 in 4.2-4.4 seconds. Going to take a lot more then a grand to get a 335i down to that level......

there are always more powerful cars for the money...its a fact of life...

for a fully loaded e92 m3, you can practically get a GTR which is a much faster track car...

This is the second nastiest looking car behind EVO.
Wouldn't drive it even if it was half the price of 335i.
Much rather drive civic than this.

I think it is a cool car too. It is on my radar, I have never had a burnout car and I think that could be fun for a couple of years. I would have to pick one up lightly used to justify it. It is a good looking car.

Are you judging the interior compared to a BMW and other high end vehicles or are you comparing the Mustang to vehicles more around its price and class?

Because I think the Challenger is the worst offender when it comes to cheap interiors for a $20K muscle car.

I'm a proud BMW owner.

No way would I drive American, they handle like boats, and are heavy as tanks.

All they are good for is loud, loud noise, and the interior looks like it was made in some sweat shop.

I would rather drive my son's plastic Tonka Truck than that car.

Then why can't you understand the demographic of Mustang buyers? The Mustang's interior is decent enough to please most of their owners. They aren't looking for an amazing interior, but an awesome engine and performance.

It can be difficult to look at an interior in the context of the cars price, I have had this problem myself. You really have to, and also consider what else you are getting for your money, that is to say, where did the designer/mfg put all of their money when they built the car.

I try to look past the materials themselves and look at how all the pieces fit together, is it squeaky, are the gaps good, do lines match up, etc. With this approach I have been very impressed with the Ford and GM products that I have looked at. I had a Ford Focus as a loaner and for its price it was a nice little car, fit and finish were very good, and it had standard equipment that would cost thousands as options in a Porsche.

Did you have the cloth seats?

Those things soak up soda really well. I think my passenger seat has at least 4 cans worth of Sprite in it.

Yup, had the cloth...I only had the car for a day or so, I didn't get a chance to test seat's ability to contain and absorb soda...next time I get one I will drive directly to 7-11

I think I will use Sprite for this experiment so they don't charge me for the cleaning.

Be VERY careful about that statement. Maybe FORDS handle like boats, BUT Corvettes do NOT!!!

My 2004 C5 Corvette Z06 I had out handled my 2008 M3, and had higher handling limits (1.06g Stock) and weighed in at ~3150lbs.

But all American cars break down 3 days after you take them off the lot. They aren't reliable and a friend of my friend's friend said one time he bought a new C6 Corvette and after it rained, his entire hood rusted and fell apart into dust!

This car seems like a little bit of an embarrassment. Although if a friend bought one I would compliment him on it, at 500 horsepower, it is disappointing. In my stock 300 horsepower 335i I had better 1/4 times than most of the ETs they put in on the strip. I can't imagine that it could possible keep up with my bimmer on a canyon run. The fit and finish is probably nowhere near bimmer quality. I'll bet it even costs more to insure.

It would be interesting to see the Stig take it around the track on Top Gear and to hear what Clarkson and the gang have to say.
