i'm actually gonna be honest with you - comfort access never did it for me.

i have it on my 320i and i really prefer not to have it.

if i dont have it, then i'll be forced to take my key out and lock my car. i can't tell you how many times i've just walked away from my car thinking that i locked it when i haven't.

and without comfort access i dont have to stand like a fool by the side of my car repeatedley grabbing the door handle and waiting for it to unlock. it doesn't work 100% of the time.

Wow, i wouldn't have expected that.
A friend has it on his landcruiser and it's perfect. You'd think if Toyota can fingure it out surely BMW can. Mind you, the Toyota does have ugly black buttons on the door handles, you can't possibly screw that up!

I love CA. Only issue that shits me is when your washing the car and it locks / unlocks incessantly as water hits the door handle.

I had 1 major issue when the key fob was in the center console at the carwash, the battery in the key fob went flat and the car locked itself.

That said BMW assist were more than helpful getting a cab to collect me, drive me to my wifes work so I could get the spare office key and then drove me to the office to collect my spare key and then back to the car wash to unlock the car Cost them about $200 all up in taxi fares...

I used to have the shits with CA as well. The I-drive will stay on after i turn the ignition off in garage. If i press start/stop button again, it will turn the ignition on again. I then realise that u can turn everything off by pressing the start/stop button again after ignition is off but do it without pressing the break padal and everything will turn itself off.

LOL. SO i think it is great now. I dont have the problem where it does not unlock occasionally. It has always worked 1st time, everytime. Just pull the door handles twice and the system will definetly know u want doors to unlock.

You can get around this by inserting the key into the ignition like a normal car without CA, then go wash ur car....this disables CA from outside and the locks dont go haywire

My fob never leaves my pocket normally but I'll give this a go when I next give it a wash.
