I don't think rich people are that stupid. If someone clunked some of the cars mentioned, I'm sure the dealer just smiled, gave $4,500 off the the Prius he sold and then turned around and made $20K profit on the resale of the Bently.

Yeah, seems far fetched to me too. I'd like to see how someone clunkered a 2007 GMC Acadia? Unless the thing was a totaled and barely driveable, it is certainly worth more than $3,500 or $4,500.
And come on, 3 - 740iL Protection cars??? Those are armored! Maybe they were shot up or something.... But it sure seems to me that there are far too many cars on that list that are worth far more than the $3,500-$4,500 clunker rebate.

I dont know much about the program but the list is pretty ublieveable. I call BS I have to meet the people that would trade in running Aston martins and Bentleys for $4,500.00
That Bentley in the list is worth at LEAST $60k in todays trade in market. Hell theres one on Ebay for like $120k ya I think not. |
