Again, the stock snorkel does nothing when not combined with the stock airbox which when combined together create a pathway of suction from the end of the snorkel up into the intake track. The stock system is not ram air you have to remeber, so when not pressurized it does nothing and is there just for looks. With scoops installed, a large supply of air is being directly brought to the DCI via the stock snorkel, not only is alot more air being brought to the DCI but a ambient temperature of it is being brought there compared to udner hood temps. Even 10mph in speed wil yeild more/cooler air to the DCI. Saying it creates a large amount of power can be false. Saying it creates more consistent and somewhat more power to allow the DCI to function to work to its full potential is def. a true statement that has something behind it. |

of course IAT drop when you get on the highway, with the scoops or not, you are getting more airflow into the front of your car. this isnt some sort of aerodynamic cone slicing through air...theres a lot of airflow being directed at the front of the car...thats why your intercooler, your brake ducts, your oil cooler ducts, all face forward. they dont need a tube pointing at them to get air

The example you listed as: -brakes, which have rammed air ducts leading to the brakes -Intercooler, is directly open to ram air and is directly in front of the car to open air -oil cooler aswell has a RAM air duct that brings vast amounts of ambient air to it There is no direct path of air that brings air to the DCI. Even when going 80mph, with the hood closed there is minimal ways for air to go to the DCI, it is seal mostly around, and even when air is around the area of the DCI, since it is hidden to the side and middle/rear of the engine bay, it has already mixed with vast amount of HOT AIR around the engine bay before being sucked up into the DCI. Scoops combined with the snorkel which leads directly to the DCI, as i mentioned not only will bring more air, but amibent temparture air.(which is cooler air) I dont have hard data, but this logic alone is more than enough to justify its potential. Like i said, it wont give you ALOT of power, but most def will add power through lower intial IAT along with more air at tap, but more consistent power aswell. This is more of a on road performance ehancement as opposed to a dyno gloy mod. I will try to log DCI without scoops and DCI with scoops on some 3rd gear pulls on the btcable soon. |

Sorry, i didn't log Road Speed. However, looking at RPM you can see my shifts and when I'm idling. I got up to highway speeds at about 140 seconds. |
