Sounds good and hopefully this forum could get quite a nice plug and the recognition is deserves. I'll be 'sky+'ing it too as I'm bound to forget.
Well done to all concerned.

I'm pretty sure that if BMW attend - or just supply a statement - their comments will cover their arse fairly effectively 'cos their best brains will be working on combating the perceived bad PR that will come from Watchdog featuring them.
Guys, I think you'd better have a good idea what you are going to say. Do you go with wheels not being up to spec or it's the specification of run flat tyres on very low profiles, do you try a combination of both because you can bet your ass BMW will have an answer for any reason you put up for this. Perhaps it might be safer to play the line "we don't know why they crack, it's just that other makers don't" and concentrate (with paper proof where available) that BMW have been blaming British roads and driving over sleeping policemen at excessive speeds - and nothing to do with them - honest. In fact, on that point - it's usually back wheels that crack is it not. Does that mean we all drive around missing the potholes with our front wheels but catch them with the back wheels? And what do we do with sleeping policemen - pull wheelies?! |

Credit to some of you guys and to the forum, too.
Good to see BMW getting some pressure because of this, even though they'll undoubtedly try to fluff it over (if they even bother to deem it worthy of comment at all). Nothing works like a bit of media pressure - even if they start actually making decent wheels now then it'll have been enough of a result. Just means we have to sit through Miss Faceilft and her annoying screechy voice for half an hour is all.... |
