I had put my winters on the October long weekend, but then we never had snow and the weather has been pretty warm lately so I switched back to my summers. Once I start seeing frost in the mornings, I will switch back over again.

During a freak snow storm last month, I smacked one of my rims trying to turn into my parking lot at work. FYI the stock run flats on the sport package is absolutely crap for winter. Picked up a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta R's and they are fantastic. Since that day, not a sniff of snow.

When I first got my E46 330i about 5 yrs ago, I still had my stock summers on and we got a couple of cms of snow early November - just a light dusting. I could barely drive 20 km/hr....they were brutal.

I second the Hakka R's....best tire.

Just don't whine about curbing your rims and all that, especially when you are now officially lowered.

I put my winter wheels on in the beginning of October as I went to Mexico the first 2 weeks of October.

There was no way to get to the airport without going through the 6000+ foot mountain pass and it snowed the day we left.

I put them on last week when we had a sunny day.

225/40/18 LM60's. They're much better than my all-seasons with all the rain we've been getting especially since I drive a lot at night when it's much colder.

Attached bad iphone pic. They look much better in person.

I put them on last weekend too. After lowering, I won't able to fit the Soni's jack stand even I have the low profile Michellin jack And I hate the tuck in look on the rear now since I run 225/40/18 on all 4 corners.

If you guys do the change yourself, make sure to get this , it helps a lot!

i just put on my blizzack LM25s on style 189

these are my favorite winter tires. great in snow, pretty quiet, and comfortable. however, these are my second set and they don't last as long as other snow tires. but you get your monies worth for the life of the tires.

It is a hanging pin. Makes it easier for you to mount the wheel.

BMW uses bolts for their wheels, so you basically will rest the wheel on the hub lip while you try to line up the holes and insert the bolts. Can be difficult/back breaking work sometimes, so this pin basically allows you to mount the wheel easier.

Anyone know where we can get these locally?

KM11's? Did you get those at tirerack?

My Brother has been trying to get them for his GTi but they're sold out. When did you get them?
