jopa489 - excellent write-up and photos! That's a very cool car. When you do polish, I assume this is single-stage paint, so I assume you'll get it on your pads. I've never polished SS paint before, so I hope you write it up when you do. My own dad has a 300zx in need of some attention. I'd like to get my hands on it one day and clean it up. But I bet his is not CC paint, either, and I wonder what it would be like to polish.

I have no experience polishing single stage paint, and would really need to do some homework on it before attempting the T/A. I'm confident that with some reading, learning, and common sense I'll be able to handle it. Though I'm still on the fence about doing it at all - the paint has no miles and no weather effects, and has only been hand washed. Based on what I saw when doing this detail, the paint is in very good shape. So we'll see what happens come spring.

wow, 31 years and only 11000 miles.. that's insane. hard waxes ARE tricky to apply, but I've come to prefer them over soft waxes. good job working around all the decals; I would've lost my mind.
