Personally I do not work for BMW or any dealer so I do not have official info to give you regarding specific reasons for delays. What I am aware of are that there are occasional problems in transit to port or in production where some aspect of the car will be put through additional testing/quality control before it is on the vessel.
I also believe that some of the cars are grouped by shipments to different areas based on eventual travel distance. My car took roughly 9 days from production completion to boarding a vessel while my brothers car (we ordered identically equipped - aside from color- 335i's) had a production date of 7 days later but actually made it on the same boat - so his production completion to boarding vessel was 2 days!!! This leads me to believe that the eventual destination of the car (including VPC to dealer) plays a role in the packaging of orders on ships, and it is not based soley on east coast/west coast destinations - again this is all speculation based on what I've seen in the past (2nd BMW order) and info I've found online. Hope it helps - post your options etc if you want me to check your status again

That must not include black/saddle's on order for future production for Washington dealers?

Does anyone know definitively how long it will take to get from the VPC to Seattle? My CA told me 5 days, but most people thinking he is smoking crack (he is new)!!!

I don't know how I would survive the wait time for such an exciting vehicle without this website

I found your color breakdown from the other thread very interesting. Any chance you could do the same with the other e92 options? How many people buy an option is speculated alot in threads on this board. It would be nice to have some real numbers.

I ordered my E92 335i Coupe on 9/22/06, and my dealer quoted me the typical 6-8 weeks for delivery, so that would be around late Nov. The OC Web site still says "On Order" while the BMWUSA Cust. Serv. say "probable production for week 37 or 38...around 10/16/06, but nothing confirmed yet." I would greatly appreciate if you could locate it and give me any update you see in the system. Here's my car coming to Braman BMW - W. Palm Bch., FL...

User1 - I agree that it will be interesting to see option breakdowns of how many ordered etc.... while it may be time consuming, I will try to get some for the more exclusive options

Vinen - when I search for vehicles I look through all = on order/scheduled for production/in production/in transit/at dealership
The only cars I cannot see are those that have been driven off the lot already - i.e. sold and taken delivery already. Saddle is not a very common color choice, and that number is only for 335's not 328's or sedans. Enjoy
