thats what i've been trying to tell my friend for the last 8 yrs. he parks his car usually from nov to may every year...whats the point? its not a collectors car or anything like that...he has a 2001 325ci w/ 60000kms.

By no means is my garage heated, it's just really well insulated thus not allowing the temp to drop below +5. I personally would not waste heat / money keeping my cars warm.

I have the space for two cars so my e92 and daily driver both go into the garage all year round.

IMO as long as you take care of your paint it dosent matter if you park inside or out.
Inside is easier to maintain no doubt! When I park outside theres always a layer of dust on the car in the morning, or a layer of snow in the winter.
If you take the time to wash it and protect it regularly your paint will shine like new for years! If you park outside you'll find that you will need to compound it a little more often then if its parked indoors.
and it kills you when it rains overnight and the roads are dry in the morning but your car is dirty because of the rain....

I keep the car in the garage because I can't stand sweeping snow off the car or scraping frost off the windshield in the morning. The garage isn't heated but the car is not frigid in the morning.

That's true, the majority of the houses near my office (Yonge south of Eglinton) don't have garages or even driveways for that matter.

Makes me happy I live further out in the burbs.

i live in a condo, so it's garage kept.
nice to have space to load/unload the car.
it's not heated, but with ~1000 cars its certainly warmer than outside... also, no wind.

My garage is heated but I never turn the heat on, I don't really see a point unless it's like -10 out.
