So... I just bought my GTI and my dad...

Just ordered his dream car; 911 4S

VW Group these days are ridiculously slow. I ordered my GTI 2 months ago, and I will be getting it in mid-January... My dad had to order his Porsche before tomorrow if he wanted it delivered in April (this is when the snow is gone here in Quebec).

I am soooo excited :

2010 911 4S Meteor Gray (The same colour shown to display the new Turbo)
6 Speed Manual
Cocoa Full Leather and Sports Seats
Rear Window Wiper ( true porsche fan )
GPS, Multimedia Package

The MSRP came to 137k (in Canadian) and guess what lol, if he wants to buy the car (which he will) after the 6 years lease, it will cost him 45k (Cad). This is RIDICULOUSLY low, but then, on the used market, he could easily get around 75k for it.

Anyways, I just wanted to share my excitement lol.

Meteor and cocao. Hmm. I have never seen that combo.

The 4S is up there on my favorite P car list.

Rear wiper delete may be more of a true Porsche car guy though.

I did not even catch that.

I have trouble staying in my 24 month leases until the end.

I need a 12-15.

There is always the one pay but that sure makes for a lot of tuna sambishes instead of steak.

EDIT: It was sort of a rib. The early models had an option that was the delete of the wiper. Also rear seats. Weight was/is a no no. Either way it is a gorgeous performer.

6 Year LEASE?! You should decide what you wanna do before man! You're gonna get killed on residual, money factor, etc.

Congrats though, its a wonderful car, my dad has a C4S cab.

Here you go.

P.S.
One of my Boxsters was this combination, cocoa brown is probably the nicest colours of brown leather I have ever seen, the different shapes throughout the hide just adds the it's appeal. The wiper is another smart move, the rear window gets quickly covered when it's wet.

Also, what combination did you get your GTI in?

Oooopps my bad. I just talked to my dad, its not 6 but 4 lol. Then he will buy it.

My GTI will be white and black leather. The jacky interior is nice but the only white 2Dr 6speed manual coming in Jan with GPS had leather so...

Rear wiper is a must on a car with such a shallow rake.

RainX or just wing it if caught in the rain!

I am aware of the rake but was just pointing out that it is dreaded by many P purists.

My interest rates are probably not the same as you for my GTI. And two, I would take a GTI over a 128i (not a 135, 128) any day. Two, the 0-60 of a GTI is NOT 6.8, C&D clocked it at 6.1 I think. You add a Stage I APR chip and you blow any 128 easily.

I know its not RWD, but hey, its not my bad for my first car lol.

America most be different that UK when it comes the GTI residuals. I sold the wife GTI back to the dealer at a straight price for £15,400 and this was a 2yr 3mth old car with 15,300miles and a list price at new of £21K.

Even 3 year old cars are making upwards on £13,400 in good condition which is 64% and this is in the present economical climate.

Frankly given the choice I would still pick the GTI before a 1 series, even if it was the dearer option.

congrats though, id love to own a GTI. Too bad in the US theyre worthless after 3 years :/. And I want a new one not a 5.

Im planning CAI, scoops, air filter and JB so I should get some solid results down to the high 5s
Wow... the US residual sucks compare to mine. After 3 years, my car will be worth 19.5k (CAD) and my MSRP is 34k$ ( FULLY LOADED w/o DSG).
Thats 56%.
