Is it less than $1000? Ten grand to throw away means you have too much money. Wanna give me some? My 740iL cost less that $10k. And it's not a beater.

Used RSX-S
Fun to drive, low initial cost, low maint., and good MPG.

I'm not impressed with the RSX Type S. Get yourself a Civic Hatchback..1998-2002 or whatever...Super reliable..replacement parts are within a junkyard away..and you can make it fast if you throw another engine in there...easy enough if you are handy with some tools.

I like how most of you are suggesting other BMWs or Audis, Evos, RSXs, etc. Does it have to be high-performance? A beater is reliable, cheap to operate and maintain, and inexpensive. A used Toyota Corolla is A+. Quit it with the dumb suggestions. He is trying to get through school, not spend a shitload on brakes, tires, gas.

I guess my terminology was wrong. What Im considering is a cheaper daily than say an M3 or M coupe. Something like a used VW GTI or Mini Cooper. Not a junker with 200k miles on it that I can run into curbs and set on fire.

i also have owned cheap beater cars in the past, but i came to realize that life is actually pretty short to "enjoy" shitty cars most of time. so i sold it and just spent a good amount of $$ on cars that will always be happy driving.
but for beater, if i'd get one, i'd go for a cheap wrx for all condition warrior

That's kind of my philosophy right now; life is too short to drive a boring car. It'd be nice to save more money, though. |

I'm a little confused...how would selling your 335i and buying a Z4M Coupe or e92 M3 help your situation at all? It almost sounds like you just want a different car.

I'm trying decide between an m car and something cheaper. I'm going to grad school, so putting the money from the sale of my car in the bank would be the financially responsible thing to do, but I don't know if I want to give up the enjoyment of driving a fun car. M coupes are attractive to me because of how much car you can get for the price; very high bang:buck ratio.
