I think the idea is to allow optimum air flow into the intercooler. Not a fan of it though.

they mount it using the tow hook so that they dont have to drill holes in the bumper.

come on ! You see tercels and civics with that crap on the side !! It's now considered " I am a TUNER " and screams for attention. It goes in harmony with the $50 cherry bombs that they call for a muffler or the pick up trucks licences that are on an angle. I smell ricers ....

Heard on the radio news that the guy jumped onto the hood of the car before the jacking. Drove by there last night and they've put up plywood over the broken windows.

http://www.tmz.com/2009/12/30/carly-...lar-carjacker/

Carly Pope -- former star of the TV show "Popular" -- was rushed to a Vancouver hospital yesterday after a carjacker stole her ride and smashed into a building -- all while the actress was still inside
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Pope and her brother were in their BMW when an unknown man jumped on the hood. We're told her brother got out of the car to check out the situation -- and somehow, the unknown man jumped in.

The suspect tried to drive away, but crashed into three cars before hitting a building. We're told Carly was in the car when it crashed.

Both Carly and her brother -- along with the suspect and a pedestrian -- were taken to the hospital and treated for injuries. Everyone was released from the hospital, but the suspect was taken into custody. Charges are pending.

Either you go for the no license plate / clean front bumper look, or you don't. That is silly looking IMO too. Plus, you can still mount it in the center without having to drill holes on the front part of the bumper. Just get a mount that screws into the underside somewhere.

That's nutty. Note to self, dont f@#*en get out of your car when a crazy man is around. Carly Pope is cute local actress. Maybe the bum just wanted to drive her around.

I hate to say it but sometimes it's good to have a tire iron or something else that can do damage laying around in your car, lol.
