thats exactly whats holding me back. a steering wheel is something you touch every second in the car. i just doubt the material can hold up to that type of abuse...

Agreed. If the alcantara material ends up looking like the alcantara material from the ZHP steering wheel (e46s), then it's going to look pretty damn worn after a year or so. Hence, that's why I am not going with the PSW. It looks hawt new, but not so much after some use.

How is the fitment of the M3 wheel with the steptronic paddles in place?

That's disgusting. I wouldn't want to touch that wheel on a daily basis even if they gave it to me for free.

im debating going with the m-teech wheel with alcantra on the top and bottom, perforated leather on the sides and a tri-stitch. I need to just pick one and friggin stick with it! haha
heres what im thinking about:

This would be my FAV.!!!

Tri color stitching is a really nice subtle way to add some spirit to the interior of these car's which can be a bit cold at times.

IMHO.

Forget the alcantara wheel. I had one before and it starts to get nappy after a year. Check with the guy from AGE styling on Ebay. I got a M3 wheel with perf. leather and tri-color stitching. I love it....I also have the pref. shifter. BMW now has the M-tech perf wheel and perf shifter on a upgraded sport package I priced out on a 2010 coupe. The BMW salesman was blown away that I had this in my car for the last 2 years with this combo. hahaha.

I'm about to buy an m3 wheel with dct paddles from the same guy. Do you think the mtech is better quality? I thought the perforated looked too aftermarket. But if the m3 falls apart and sags... forget that!
