Has anyone here sucessfully gotten BMW to do anything about the lifter knock in N52?

its the lifter my car does that too except its not as loud as yours lol the dealer should fix it though they told me if mine doesnt go away just bring it in

Yea it does speed up when I rev the engine...my warranty just expired

I'm at 50,100 miles now. Is this an expensive fix?

few grand at least I'd assume.

Go talk to your SA like TOMORROW, maybe they'll be nice and say it was preexisting

Mines been ticking for over 60,000km now and it's still fine but mine only usually does it in the colder months (I'm in Australia). I've mentioned it to my dealer 5-6 times and they just keep it overnight and then say that they could not fault it

I will eventually get it fixed but i always forget to take in the bulletin thing to show them.

I guess mine is knocking too? The sound is way amplified, maybe I should have stood back a little further. I didn't know the mic was so sensitive.

Should I get this checked out?

I had my first HLV bleed done last yr at about 15k miles. I found out from my SA today that the Exhaust cam lifters will be swapped out.

Ive got it on mine too, I just noticed it happening a few weeks ago, I thought it was something to do with the cold weather... the car went in for brakes and I told them to check it out, because the car was warm they obviously couldnt hear it, but the rep was acting very defensive as I think he knew the amount of work it involved, it taps away for about 5 mins then fades as it warms up... is this something which I should leave it with them over night for??
