I have 15 mm on the rear and had 10 mm on the front but I took the fronts off again as they un stabilise the cars steering and it feels better without them. I thought I will keep them and when I go for a suspension set up I will refit them as its probaly throwing some alignment out.But they are a must for the rear.

I agree! Thats why i dont put the tyre dressing right after i wash the car. I put it on once im home, when i know i wont be driving the car for another few hours so that it gives the dressing time to settle and not spray all over. Best to apply it on and leave it overnight i suppose.

btw...u know u use the megs tyre gel - how do u apply yours? brush? or did you get the megs type applicator thing - if you havent, then id say get it...its awesome!

Heres my spacers now mounted. Yes i know it needs to be lowered - which will hopefully be done soon...

You need to mark the kpi axis line from the top ball joint through the lower balljoint and then to the ground and see where in relation to the tyre it meets the ground. To get the maximum load into the tyre the line should be in the centre of the tyre. With each mm the line moves away from the tyre centre as the wheel is spaced out with more offset the less load is placed into the tyre. Meeting at the edge of the tyre is acceptable, 1 inch or more is too much. The car will have increased body roll in corners and bump steer.

Most tuners that sell spacers are absolutely clueless as to the 'real' effect offset has on handling. On the US forum there are a few very clued up people. One is a suspension engineer called Orb. Harold from HP Autowerks also knows his stuff but Orb is in a league of his own. There are some exellent threads and links to very good websites.

If you want spacers for looks only then go for it but you may compromise the handling depending on the kpi axis line.

Sorry to Matt! Your car looks stunning Wafik, really stunning! As for the Megs gel, used to have the foam applicator but the foam bit fell off! Just use an old microfibre cloth now that is pretty well soaked with the stuff lol!

Spacers look great, not 'too' aggressive either

OK... I see words, I understand consequences, I don't know how to make them both go together to make sense.

What I do know is - I don't own the worlds only 135i - is it fair to say someone will know already what size spacers my car wants based on the fact I run standard BMW wheels and tyres sizes (BMW Performance type 313's)?

erm...due to my age it very high..over 7K

However...its cheaper then the 335i I had last year

Turned 21 last week, so i hope when i come to renew towards the end of the year it goes a bit more down in price!

It needs a drawing really doesn't it. If you do some sums in the Felgen Katalog, I don't think all BMW factory wheel offsets on different alloys for the same car put the centre of the tyre in the same place (i.e. for different widths of alloy). In other words there seems to be built in tolerance of some offset variation in the suspension geometry design.
